  1. If you're not wanting too much from it, other than the stated, then what about the POD Go instead? It's a bit cheaper to start with, doesn't have the parallel processing, but it sounds like you don't need it anyway, and you can even have a few effects if you want too. Nowhere near as complex as the Stomp, but the same amp/cab models, most of the effects models. Highly underrated IMO.
  2. That, and the quality of the amp/cab/effect models, plus the addition of IR's. My HD500x is also long gone, but in favour of the POD Go.
  3. Cool. No video (tnankfully! ), but here's the link to our album... recorded with the Ric (even though annoyingly to my ears it doesn't sound like a Ric). Thousand Mile Stare - Black Hole Heart
  4. Didn't use the Rack, but I did have a POD XT Live for a while (with the Bass Expansion Pack). It was good, but there are better options out there. I replaced the XT Live with a POD HD 500X, and it sounded so much better than the XT, and the effects were far better too. It's the generation on from the XT. The downside is that there are far less bass amp/cab options, but they all sound very good. You should be able to pick up a HD X Rack for a reasonable amount.
  5. I signed up my son for the free trial of Melodics when he got his Alesis kit, but he didn't take to it. Might be worth looking at? https://melodics.com/drums
  6. Seemed to go down really well, plenty of mistakes on my part, especially the brain fart where I completely blanked the intro to one song. Played our new song for the first time live, and that went down really well.
  7. Bought one for my lad a few years ago, great kit. Although they're a darn sight quieter than a full acoustic kit, they aren't quiet, especially if it's going in an upstairs room.
  8. I tried flats a few times, not a fan, sorry.
  9. I downloaded the Celestion Pulse 10 pack from Celestion Plus. Can't recall which particular IR I'm using, but it is one of the 4x10 IR's, loaded onto a POD Go, with an SVT4 amp model. I think it sounds good, others may differ. Contemplating the BN10-200X IR's... But Celestion also do the Bergantino IR's. EDIT: Had to run through a few songs last night, so fired up the POD Go, and checked the IR that's loaded up. It's the Pulse 10 410 S AKG D114 Dark 2. Think I might need to sit down and go through the IR's again, just to see if there are any others that appeal.
  10. Killing in the Name Of - Rage Against the Machine
  11. The TRC doesn't look quite right either, it looks as though it's printed, rather than the usual "raised" lettering. Might be a build by a certain British luthier who does very accurate replicas.
  12. I'm no expert on these, but the truss rod area and the neck pickup rout just don't look quite right. And shouldn't they have a "skunk stripe" as well?
  13. Paul Gray is a really great player.
