  1. If the HX Stomp is too much, but you like the thought of the "all-in-one" box, that you can use for guitar as well... Have you considered the POD Go? The models on it are all from the Helix, amps, cabs & effects, you can use IR's, you can use snapshots, but there are obviously some differences. No parallel processing, limited no. of effects to each patch. However, it's still a really flexible unit that sounds great.
  2. We were supposed to have a gig at the Krakatoa, but it fell through. Hopefully, we'll be getting a gig there sometime soon.
  3. I found that the Alpines were too short, they only had two tiers instead of three like the Auritech & the Etymotic's. Sometimes, the seal would break with movement whilst playing, which isn't what you want from a set of earplugs. The only thing I dislike about the Auritech's is that the stem is soft, and they can be a pain to put in. Moistening the tip of the plug before putting it in helps. Yes, the custom ACS are quite a few steps up from the Auritech & the old Etymotic's. I originally went for the 20dB filters, but they were a bit too much. Bought a set of the 17dB filters, so I'll see how they go next rehearsal. The fit is fabulous, as they're moulded to your ears. Really comfortable to wear too. Really wish I'd gone for them sooner.
  4. Was a long time fan of Elacin/Etymotic ER20S earplugs, but you can't seem to get them anymore. Tried the Alpine's but hated tham. Bought some Auritech Music plugs, and they were great. Recently bought some ACS Custom plugs, really pleased with them.
  5. Back in Black - AC/DC
  6. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - AC/DC
  7. He was enjoying a nice Cianti at the time
  8. Inverness Green... kind of an appropriate version to have around here.
  9. This Town Aint Big Enough For The Both Of Us - Sparks
  10. You'll have to be VERY careful with your costume choices if you go for the latter.
  11. The Gambler - Kenny Rogers
  12. Have you looked at a lined fretless? The frets are marked (lined), but obviously, fretless. There was an inexpensive 6 string bass in the "Basses For Sale" section not too long ago, might be worth a search. Fender Bass 6?
  13. Do lots of running around, acrobatics and/or dance routines? You will benefit from using headset microphones. If the answer is no to any of the above questions, then it may be better to stick to an SM58 on a stand.
  14. What does a band being inducted into the "Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame" really mean? Bog all as far as I can see.
  15. Stunning bass. GLWTS. Think it's the Elite II, as there was a single pickup version as well, the Elite I. I'm sure @Bassassin could clarify. The black Elite II was one of my dream basses back in the day.
  16. Moon Dance - Some Miserable Old Bloke
  17. Used to love Aenima, but it's getting a bit dated IMO now, though probably a bit more accessible than some others. Definitely Lateralus, and definitely Fear Inoculum. I'd recommend starting there. 10,000 Days has it's moments, but is one you need to have an appreciation of Tool first before listening to it.
  18. Dream On Dreamer - Brand New Heavies
  19. Fabulous looking basses, would definitely love one, but more than likely they'll be way, way, way, way out of my price range. Never thought that they would reissue them, but it's great that they have. Remember trying a white one in a shop in the late 80's/early 90's, IIRC, it wasn't that expensive, but again, more than I could afford at the time.
  20. They must have reinstated them for the 2022 model.
  21. The '77 Burgundyglo will definitely have a skunk stripe, however, the 4003W does not, because it is a more recent model. Though I have noticed that it is now a feature of the 2023 on models of 4003, at least the one's that I've seen online.
  22. Children of the Sea - Black Sabbath
  23. The Camera Eye - Rush
  24. Currys / PC World - their "Sale" prices are usually everyone else's everyday prices. Hotpoint / Whirlpool / Indesit / Candy / any other white goods manufacturer within the group - After having a washing machine, tumble drier & fridge freezer need major repair work after owning them for a few months, and then repeated work a few months later, any confidence in the group was non-existent. Music related, unfortunately, Rotosound strings will be avoided because of too many dead strings in new packs.
