  1. Can't argue with this really. As much as I'd like to spend more, I can't justify it. If I can't justify it, it's not worth doing. And as others have said, if you did spend over that, you'd be too paranoid to take it out of the house anyway, so what's the point in having it?
  2. Would it be worth looking at baritone guitars?
  3. I have a Tascam DR-05 as well, great wee thing and always had great results from it. Mainly used it for recording new songs at rehearsals, really helps with not only remembering what the song was, but also for refining ideas for parts and seeing what works / what doesn't.
  4. If you like the compressor on the TC amp, then why not try out a TC SpectraComp?
  5. Great stuff. Keep us updated on how it sounds.
  6. I never "got" Type O, loads of my friends loved them, but they never clicked for me.
  7. Of the all the different sets I've tried in recent years, the Pro Steels are certainly the best, and certainly work well with the Ric's.
  8. There's always: Warwick Red Label 5 String Set - Gear4Music
  9. Absolutely this. Start with a blank canvas every time, exactly as you would with a new amp/cab & effects setup. It is a fair bit of "tweak time", but it's well worth it.
  10. Owned a few basses over the years, including Fenders, and Fender derivatives. Currently don't own either, and quite happy with what I have.
