  1. Because in the 40-odd years I've been gigging, I've never had an issue with any of my kit. Always carry a spare set of strings. Only ever had one string break when I've been playing, and that was 30-odd years ago at a rehearsal.
  2. I can understand taking a spare instrument if you are in a band that's going to play 2-3 hours worth of music over numerous sets at functions / weddings etc. However, if you're playing 30-40-60 minute sets down the Dog & Duck, then I think it's probably a bit overkill.
  3. Speed King - Deep Purple Kings of Speed - Hawkwind
  4. One of the best things I learned many years ago, after having been over-charged (IMO) for a set-up on a guitar, where they didn't appear to have done anything other than change the strings. I do like tinkering with stuff, and what's more satisfying than working on your own guitar?
  5. Happiness is a Warm Gun - Them There Beatles
  6. The Marshall MB 15 is a fantastic little amp. Bought one for my lad a few years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it sounded.
  7. There used to be an excellent forum for Matsumoku built guitars which had tons of catalogue scans, but unfortunately, I can't remember the site address.
  8. Would love to try a Digbeth rig, but there again, I'm without a band and can't justify going out and buying one.
  9. And there was me thinking it was about updates from Status Basses...
  10. More to the point, who bought this bass???
  11. I Khan Go For That (No Can Do) - Hall & Oates
  12. Bought my lad a second hand Marshall MB-15 a few years back. I was amazed at how good it sounded, and have threatened to nick it more than once.
