  1. Ding Dang A Dong - Teach In (Eurovision Song Contest Winner 1975)
  2. Snowblind - Black Sabbath
  3. Whatever's to hand. Cheap & cheerful, but played with attitude.
  4. Not really having a reference point here, I'm afraid I can't really help in that respect. It had to be moved on when I couldn't coax a usable sound out of it. It sounded great on it's own, but in the rehearsal room, it just seemed "indistinct" to me. There again, I do realise that I much prefer single coil pickups.
  5. Gabba Gabba Hey - The Other Four Mop Tops from New York
  6. Hey Bulldog - That Lot Again
  7. Had one a wee while back. From what I recall, the body was slightly oversized, compared to an Epiphone / Gibson, and it has a 44mm nut (opposed to 38mm on the Epiphone / Gibson models). The oversized body meant that it won't fit into a shaped T'bird case, but does fit into a gig bag. Other than that, it's a solid bass. Prone to the usual T'bird complaints of course. I didn't find it head heavy, but you have to have long arms (especially if you want to play it sat down!). If you play with it on a strap, then you need to have the body resting on the hip rather than having the body resting across you (as you would with an FSO for example).
  8. Do Wah Diddy Diddy - Manfred Mann
  9. Ship of Fools - Lucky Leif and the Longships
  10. Mama Weer All Crazee Now - Slade
  11. After Forever - Black Sabbath
  12. Les Cigares Volants - Voivod
  13. Live and Let Die - Wings
  14. At least it's not being used as reinforcing bars, there's a concrete shortage as well.
  15. Which ones have -30dB filters? All the ones I've seen are between 15 & 20dB, which is one reason why I've never gone down the custom route.
  16. Whatever feels right for the particular song.
  17. Time to panic buy.
  18. Calling International Rescue - We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It
  19. TBH, I have no idea. I suppose it comes from thinking that rounds might damage the fret board (or lack-of-fret board in this case). With flats, there would be nothing to damage the 'board. And always assuming that the typical fretless "mwah" sound was flats. 🤷‍♂️
  20. Surprised at folk using rounds for fretless, would have thought the de-rigeur choice would have been flats.
  21. Indecisive - Newton Faulkner
  22. Have you tried it with a lower Gain setting? 90% is a hell of a lot of gain, and will produce hiss, no matter what volume you're playing at. Just a thought.
  23. Just goes to show that you really can't beat moving a bit of air.
  24. Had to relearn how to play when I stopped using a plectrum. It was worth it IMO. Just something very satisfying about playing. Though, as others have said, horses for courses. There's merit in all techniques.
  25. Tears of a Clown - The Beat
