  1. Pretty much sums it up. If you want to use the Helix as your main sound, use the Effects Return. If you want to include the Ampeg into your sound, look into the "4 Cable Method".

  4. Got to agree with this. Dawsons were all over the North West of England in the 90's, but the prices never seemed to be that competitive, and the service seemed non existent. If you were after a keyboard though, they would fall over themselves to help. I always got the impression that guitars were kind of a side line for them. I knew a few people who swore by Dawsons though. It's still a sad state of affairs that yet another established name in musical instrument retail has hit the wall.

  8. Dunno, I was just under the impression that the HX FX only had the effects models from the Helix, and not the amp/cab/mic/IR capabilities. It does have a BDDI model as an effect, but would that mean it was technically a preamp as well? Is the B7K a preamp or a distortion/OD box? Anyway, my point was that the HX FX doesn't have the same preamp capabilities of the HX Stomp/Stomp XL/LT/Floor/Rack or POD Go.

  15. No Rutger this time around though.
  16. Just to be a bit pedantic here, but the HX FX isn't a preamp, it's an effects modeller. It's just the effects models from the Helix, not the amp/cab models. The Helix Stomp, LT, Floor, Rack, or the POD Go, or any other type like a Headrush or Kemper, then they're preamps.

  21. There was Death Metal band called "Cadaver" who's bass player used a double bass. They toured with a load of Industrial bands in the early 90's IIRC. Saw them, and it was an amazing sight!
