Just to be a bit pedantic here, but the HX FX isn't a preamp, it's an effects modeller. It's just the effects models from the Helix, not the amp/cab models. The Helix Stomp, LT, Floor, Rack, or the POD Go, or any other type like a Headrush or Kemper, then they're preamps.

There was Death Metal band called "Cadaver" who's bass player used a double bass. They toured with a load of Industrial bands in the early 90's IIRC. Saw them, and it was an amazing sight!

Warwick Red Label strings are great VFM, at around £9 a set from G4M. Used the Stainless Steel rounds before, and they're really good too. -
