Unfortunately, there do seem to be a larger number of "flag waving patriotic citizens" who play Ric's, especially those of the "internet warrior" persuasion. Foxtrot Romeo Oscar to the lot of them.

Wanted one for years, but always ended up with something else Fender-esque. Finally bought one, and never looked back (even when I had to sell it - bought a Faker or three). Finally managed to pick up another one last year, and loving it (as well as the walnut Faker in the pic). Some love them, most hate them, think Marmite or Harley Davidson. My advice: definitely "try before you buy", and consider adapting your technique to suit it (i.e. play between the pickups).

Just bought a case from GuitarGuitar Glasgow, spoke to the guy on the phone, really helpful, even called me back to apologise that the warehouse had missed a delivery slot and it'd take another day (due to be delivered on Monday). Suitably impressed so far.

Indeed, our previous singer asked for a "break" in March last year, then decided to quit in May. Ads went out into the ether, with a few responses, some discounted due to the obvious 'dreamer'. When lockdown eased, managed to get a couple of auditions done before being shut down again. A year later, no further on, but we do have a rehearsal booked for the first time in months, which is something positive at least.
