Low morale?

I blame Hodgson.
2. The grille on my B3158 is held in with velcro. Does the job very well.
3. Gigs are a lot more expensive than they used to be too. I think moaning about filesharing etc is a bit of a waste of energy. It's here to stay and there's little if anything that can be done about it. If you rely on making music for an income, then finding alternative ways to monetise your music other than selling CDs or downloads is where energy should be spent.
4. I'm afraid I live in the downloading copyrighted stuff from the internet without paying is Malum Prohibitum rather than Malum in Se Camp. It's not stealing. It does not permanently deprive anybody of anything.
5.
Seems like the world is getting increasingly fed up with IE, not just using it but also having to keep tweaking their websites to support it. Here's an interesting development: http://www.bbc.co.uk...nology-18440979
Has always been the way. IE has got better over the years. I still have to keep one site I manage compatible with IE6. Which can be about as fun as putting your balls in a vice. At least it's not 5.5 though, which was worse than 5. I worked for a company once that offered a "free PC" for users of their website that had problems using a mac. Didn't last long, but the numbers worked.
6.
Water fowl joke.
there's always swan.
7.
as opposed the the "jesters shoes" good way?
Diametrically opposed to the jester's shoes, in more ways than one.
8. If I saw a grown up playing that I wouldn't like it. Midget, dwarf or disabled child I still don't like it. Making my toes curl. And not in a good way.
9. Yep, I use the 760FM on my P and sometimes downtune a semitone. There's not much difference in feel on mine to be honest. I don't bother mucking about with the set up when I do, there's not much in it on mine other than a bit of buzz on the 4th - intonation isn't that much different. Although obviously if it's a permanent switch I would.
10. You might limit the output in terms of wattage, but you'll hardly tell the difference (if at all between a 4Ohm and an 8Ohm cab if they're the same cab). It's 10x wattage to sound twice as loud innit? So halving the wattage used does little to perceived volume. You'd have to halve it another 4 times to perceive half volume. I rewired my Acme Low B2s to be 16Ohm not 4Ohm and couldn't hear the difference. And they're real power guzzlers.
11. Schroeders do work well with Ampegs. Not a patch on the Barefaced though.
12. I know this gets a bit monotonous... but take a look at the Barefaced stuff. My rig will be something close to yours, though not as powerful (SVP-Pro > 600W Mosfet) and it gets on very well indeed with my Big One. Light, loud and sound like whatever you put in em. A Super 15, a Big Twin or two...
13.
+1 for the Deluxe P bass but, if its like mine its active so migfht diverge from the P bass sound the OP was after. Sounds damn good to me though
Not all the MiMs are active, though most are, mine's not. I don't think the California Series are active. The one's I've seen haven't been.
14. Nice. Though agree with WoT's WTF.
15. My 90s MiM Deluxe Series P Bass Special has a Jazz neck. The slightly earlier US made California Series (same parts, different factory) also has a Jazz neck, being made from the same parts
16. Sometimes... And I've had this before, songs change during production and a bassline, hook, or whatever part ceases to fit as well as it did when the song was first jammed and the line written. I've been pissed off with people leaving my lines in when they no longer really fit. Makes the song sound sh*t and makes me sound like the culprit. Sounds to me like he might have done you a favour.
17.
You do need one.......................
Yeah, you're right... I do need one. But the Big One means I don't need one...
18. Glad this has gone... I was very, very tempted... but I really don't need one...
19. I try to remember a stand. If not I either prop my bass (strings against) on my cab, or at gigs where I think this is too risky, I put it back the case, lid unlatched.
20.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Blocks have no place on a precision, or a tele, or a strat or anything apart from a jazz bass, jazz master or jaguar. Apart from gibsons.
Hear hear! They look like aftermarket body kits on saloon cars.
21. Pre-amps are where the bang for buck is for depth and tone in general. That said, I like my Jazz, but mostly use a Precision if I'm after fat. Jazzes just need more EQ to get the same thickness and I never get it as fat as with a Precision. I've never played anything but the three basses in my signature through my rig though. I've been thinking about a Stingray myself just to see.
22. Good stuff. I use ESET. http://www.eset.co.uk/ It aint cheap, but it's the best out there.
