1. You should be able to find the right model here... The have a look at the parts list or wiring diagram, it'll tell you on there...
  2.
My fretboard overhangs,it is not in contact with the body and the scratch plate goes under the board. It is also not a Fender neck.
Actually I suppose that makes sense. Otherwise you might get some issues with shimming the neck.
  3.
good answer..strange question...are there basses with the fretboard...overhung?
There are basses where the fretboard overhangs. Still, you'd want that bit of the fretboard to be in contact with the body, so the pickguard would have to be cut around the overhang, not around the neck pocket. I've never seen any fenders/squires with overhanging fretboards.
  4. I've got a whirlwind leader I've been using and abusing for about 10 years. It doesn't seem to want to break. Even though I've tied knots in it, put chair legs on it and pulled it (often) when it gets jammed inbetween the leg and caster of a chair that lives next to my practice amp. It still looks in pretty good nick and I expect it to fulfil it's lifetime guarantee. I left it at a gig in Derby not so long back. I was distraught. I got it back though. Drove all the way over on a cold winters night even though they offered to post it. OBBMs cables are very excellent too.
  5. I reckon it'll go for more than £5000... A MIJ 65 ressisue Would cost the best part of grand or so to import.
  6.
The pickups look fine, but those frets look too good to be true for a 45 year old "played a lot" bass!
Yeah those frets do look new. Everything else looks good though. Lovely bass. Not sure why it's desirable because it's unbound... They don't make '65 reissues with bound necks for nowt.
  7. Hi Karl, I'm not sure those noiseless pups are stacked humbuckers. Not sure at all. I'm pretty sure it's the enamelled wires and "special" magnets which rid em of pesky 60 cycle hum. That's why they're vintage noiseless, rather than just noiseless.
  8. Out of those I'd go for the B100R. (or the V-Type) I've got an immaculate B3158 which I would part with for £300. Which is better than the B100R.
  9. On the plus side, unless you're incredibly sh!t at playing bass, you'll sound 1000+times better than you think.

  11.
Go on then. I'll take it.
You swine. I'll wait. I want mine ungrooved :snob:
  12.
I'm not sure how you would get that Rhino effect. I put it on with one of those fluffy rollers from B&Q and it came out smooth but with a leather/tolex type slightly dimpled effect. I guess you could just paint over the top of Rhino and retain the same texture
That's what I've been thinking... I mean, to be honest. I reckon it's just black rhino paint, with orange paint over the top. Surely if I put some other paint over... it aint gonna make much difference. I mean, you don't worry about painting something once it's been painted... ?
  13. Is this like "rhino finish"? I've got a schroeder in cayenne (orange) which maybe could do with being a different colour. Maybe...

    mosfet
which are ? mosfet I thought the best thing about mosfets is that they're able to handle more heat.
I've been thinking the best amp would be a valve pre > mosfet powered by a lightweight switching power supply. I do own one but it's 17kg. And it's not the mosfets that are heavy.

    mosfet
i've always considered mosfets better than the standard bjt's because of their valve like qualitys
which are ? 16. Press the strings less hard? Do you release the tension in your hand inbetween each note? Lower the action on your bass? Use lower tension strings? Is it a muscular or joint pain?
  17. I'm in the market for a 4U. I'm thinking of sticking plastic though. It's rare my gear gets moved by anyone but me and it's house > taxi boot > gig > taxi boot > house. Though I suppose the taxi might crash How heavy is this?
  18.
One thing that is important, however, is your respective sounds. A poorly chosen ride cymbal can kill your bass sound. A great one can lift it and let it fly.
I agree. "Bad" cymbals are awful hateful things. It's surprising how many musicians completely forget (or don't understand) anything about frequencies and leaving space for others to occupy them (or not).
