1. a 2x10 and a 15" Not for me... but I would I wanted to. Why would ya want to?
2. I reckon it equates to a a great big box.. The bigger the box, the smaller the port you put in it unless you want to smash yer winders. I once cracked my bedroom windows putting a 100w solid state head through a 20" odd PA speaker. I dunno how. But I did. Bbbbbbrrrrrhh..... crack. The window was open though. And the frame was rotten.
3. They're just either arlarse or jealous... tbh, wtfi TBH? my 1212L is the best cab I've used. There's no discussion any more and there are cabs and cabs down at our rehearsal studio. Nothing great like. But theres some old 2x15s, a coupla 15"s, a few old 15"s, and I've turned up there with a couple of Acme 2x10s together with a BIG (1.2kw) power amp (that's good BTW) . We're all agreed. The 1212L is the sh*t. It hangs in the mix. drummers love it and let you turn it up way too loud...
4. play the gueetar... palay the blues... or play some jazz...
5. I've got a an FSR one in matt black that I wouldn't sell for £350... they're the exactly the same as the US cali series. Which they don't list anymore on the parts list maybe because it's exactly the same... not too sure on the actives though... These are great basses if you like thin thin necks, front to back. check out that spaghetti logo... cool as...
6. If I had a torch and a bonfire for everyone who said this sh*t I\\\'d be be in prison.
7. WHO is giving Schroeders the stick? Line em up! mines an odd orange colour but it kicks F*CKing arse.
8. it's still here. Although it's now in a box, not by the kettle. offers?
9. I'm really not sure about the chinese ampeg stuff... they had their problems with the PCBs being botched out there and have now moved their whole production line? I've spent £100s getting ampeg stuff brought up to spec in parts and labour (and that's all been "US" built)... at least that worked when I bought it though Although - now you've got it fixed it'll be fine. As my man who fixes this stuff says (despite being a lover of quality) it's decent stuff, it's just built sh*t. But then he's not got a good word to say about anything other than Mullard and Powersoft. Oh, early Sansui (for hifi) Leeds built Celestion, good pioneer, yamaha and some other stuff I've not even heard of are ok too... amcron, uk built carlsbro etc. Peavey stuff doesn't break but sounds sh*t... At least the ampeg stuff gets a mention and he'll fix it rather than you having to sling yer hook. If yer lucky. Ampeg stuff comes into it's own when it's been tweaked a bit.
10. never played with a LM... I don't really think of an amp being heavy unless its uncomfortable to carry more than 100m... or up and down stairs... for which weight isn't the main problem really unless it's a big valve amp.
11. Ok... This things is about as loud as my schroeder 1212L as my 600W power amp & ampeg SVT-IIP at about 2/3 gain. Neither drown out my drummer... neither need to turned up full... It's LOUD...
12. little bit of switch cleaner! (if you're naughty, use a wd40 straw)
13.
not at all sire and thanks for the bump im really sure on the rate. the guy who i was in talks with wanted £200 for his. but ive seen one for £375. might be worth asking in gear forum about it. sorry if i wasnt much help
I saw an ex demo one for £275 not so long back. The US ones are a bit rare. As are the ones (I've never found one despite them being advertised as such) with speakons. I also saw one go on ebay for £130 a couple of months ago - but I think that was cheap.
14. I've removed fender factory fitted bushes before to find a bit of masking tape wrapped on them. So that's what I've done since.
15. I've got a deluxe fender bridge... like this... Which I've got for sale (although I've not added to my ever growing list of stuff to shift ) It should be a drop in replacement on a 51 P bass. Yours for £30 + postage
16. I'd like to know too. I saw a photo of an ampeg one somewhere but I've never found any for sale.
17. Maybe you can! I don't mind splitting so long as you pay me £80 between yers
18.
Hi there, How much just for the neck? andy
Not sure really. I've got no real need for the tuners any more...
19. Mighty Might Precision Neck Maple 'board. Fitted with Hipshot HB2s £80 + post I might split if someone offers enough for the HB2s. They're lovely US made 20:1 gear ratio tuners. The lacquer has worn through on a few spots but it's a good neck. It's also got a graphtec tusq nut on it. (and a bit of graphite from a 5b pencil!)
20. I am from Crosby, although I now live in Nottingham. What's Wallasey like, I can't say I've ever been there. I went to New Brighton a few times as a kid. Usually on a tip off that they had some Star Wars figure rarity in Toys R Us
21.
It can also become a dogma that theory limits creativity. There's a long thread on this here - a thread that seems to re-happen every few weeks. I don't see what the point is here - other than that your gf is making a mistake.
Aye, I know My point is - she's theoried up her own arse. And that she can't be the only one in the world who is. Also, the programmatic way she's been taught music and music theory DOES limit her creativity. In fact, musical "creativity" as I see it has been drummed completely out of her. She can't play a note other than by muscle memory or sight. In other words, she can sight read piano to grade 7 but to her eternal chagrin (being a true cocken-ey) cannot play along with any Chas n' Dave.
22.
Mine.....
Or not I hope my insistence on sending the package via husky dog train didn't put you off.
23.
I've never known theory to get in the way of creativity. In fact I'd say some knowledge of theory improves the chances of creativity occurring.
That's two sides of the same coin though innit. "Rules" can help formulate new ideas more quickly, but they can become dogma. I argue with my girlfriend (grade 8 theory) that it's possible to play any note with any chord and make it sound harmonious. She argues till she's blue in the face that you can't - despite me repeatedly asking her to pick any note / chord, watch me play a run or melody which includes said incongruous note over that chord, and then tell me it sounds out of key when it doesn't. But then, she don't know the blues
24. I'm saving for a new amp. This is one of the bits I'm letting go. It's a US Fender 62 reissue P pickup. It's wired with vintage cloth wire, and 0.1uf Oil / Paper Cornel Dublier capacitor. It's even been soldered using lead solder So it's all very authentic even if it's newish (about 3 years old). Vintage backed CTS pots. Switchcraft jack. A screwdriver and spanner is all you need to fit. £80 + post and it's yours.
