  2. It's a crazy fact isn't it? Although as far as i know Topper Headon actually played bass on Rock the Casbah. Norman was drafted in to play on some of the Clash's recording sessions in New York, this was because Paul was actually acting in a film which was shooting in Vancouver at the time. It was Micky Gallagher playing organ for the Clash and I'd imagine it was him who got Watt Roy as they were band mates in The Blockheads. However i also read that when Simonon rejoined the recording sessions in New York he actually rerecorded and rewrote Watt Roy's parts. I do still find it fascinating though. Kev
  3. Hi Chris, I thought id show you a couple of pics of my fretless, let me know if you're interested in a swap. The bass currently has the original white pickguard on (still with sticker cover on), however if you wanted i could put on a black pickguard from my other US Jazz. 4. Where is that broken precision from the london calling cover? Kev
  5. The original was played on a double bass kirky, but that video is just awful. Clearly made by someone who doesn't have a clue. I have the Standing in the shadows of Motown book and its a really great book for learning lots of Jamerson's lines. A transcription of heatwave is in there so i would recommend that if you want a really accurate version. The Jam also recorded a cracking version of Heatwave on their 1979 album Setting Sons. Kev

  16. Hey everyone. I have tried to sell this bass before on here aswell as ebay. I am looking for £550 which is a great price considering the condition of the bass which retails at £999. I would also consider a part ex for either a Mark Hoppus Custon Fender in Olympic White or a Fender Geddy Lee +£100. I got the bass as a gift for christmas 2006 and i have barely played it due to prefering my fretted US Jazz. I could deliver the bass for you for an arranged fee but please message me to check. I am based in Hartlepool in Teeside if you would like to come and try the bass. I have the original pickguard and i will also include the red tortioseshelll guard i purchased (costing £35) which i think gives the bass a great vintage look. Heres some pics.... Thanks for looking and if you have any questions just message me. Kevin
