Hi guys, I am selling my current 5 string jazz bass. It is a USA Fender from the late 90's I believe, it used to belong to Jon Noyce who used it with Jethro Tull. It had a rosewood board and is finished in Daphne Blue. I bought the bass 1 year ago and had howard the bass doc do some modifications for me. The bass is now a PJ bass with USA P pup put in the neck position. The controls have been replaced and the middle pot is a pan pot netween the jazz pup in the bridge and the p pup in the neck and the first pot is a master volume control. I am losing money on this bass but I have prices it for a quick sale. I am currently using the bass in Dubai and I wont be back to the UK until after July 8th, so I wouldn't be able to post the bass until then. I am based in Teesside but will also be in London and Cornwall for short periods during July if you wanted meet in person to collect the bass. I am happy to post as long as its insured and the buyer covers the cost. I will include the original jazz neck pickup and the original pickguard if you want to convert it back to a normal J bass. The bass is great working order, no problems with the electronics and truss rod working fine. I will also include a Jethro Tull CD signed by Jon Noyce. The bass will be posted in a Hardcase. Any questions then please just message me. Kev

Hi guys, I love this bass but I very rarely get to play is it as I work abroad and can only take one bass at a time. The bass is not fully original. The body (with pickup covers) and neck were purchased separately from Beedster and the sent to Howard the bass doc who sourced era correct pots, pick ups and supplied a badass bridge. Howard also arranged a refinish in trans red, I wanted the bass to look like Stings from The Police's first world tour (see the video at the bottom of the page). The pick guard was custom made by Howard and the tuners are reissue versions that were purchased new. The bass comes now comes with a high quality Sadowsky Hard/soft case, so I would feel comfortable shipping the bass in the UK. The bass sounds amazing and looks fantastic. I have dropped the price to 850 pounds and I am looking for a cash only transaction, sorry, no trades. If you have any questions or would like me to email more pictures to you then just get in touch. Hi guys, I want to sell my 1983 JV Jazz bass, I have had the bass for 3 years it was one of the slimmest necks I have ever played. For the last year I have been working abroad and playing a 5 string bass, now I've come back to this jazz its just a little to slim and I now prefer a precision neck for a 4 string. The condition is good for its age. If there is some serious interest I will post more detailed pictures but its the right hand bass in the below picture, I'm sure you didn't need me to tell you that. Im looking £750 ONO, the bass comes with a non original hard case. The bass was imported from Japan by the guy that I bought it from, it is one of the basses produced for the domestic market. I have added the tortoise pickguard and the neck pick up cover, I will include these in the sale along with the original pickguard. Any questions then just ask. Thanks Kev

Hi guys, does anybody know if Elixir long scale strings fit a string through body 34" scale jazz bass? I have them on my top loading jazz which is with me in China, but want to know if they will fit my other bass at home before I order some in bulk. I'm guessing they probably do, as my current jazz bass is toploading through badass 2 bridge and the thick part of the string goes all the way to the E string tuner. Can anyone conform this? Thanks Kevin

I remember reading he recorded HMWYRS with a late 70's P bass but it had a A width neck, which is is the same nut width as a jazz bass but it would still have a precision bass on the headstock. I like the way he has taken off the pickguard, showing the Jaco influence there.

Have a good one David, I'm from Hartlepool, maybe I have seen you band at The Studio in the past? -
Great tune! always gets the crowd dancing... even if they do sing Vitalite! If you play it in Bb then the run up should be on a Db major scale. Heres a link to my old reggae bands version as I cant seem to manage to embed youtube videos :s Ali & The Beachcombers - Israelites Kev

hi cocco, the trade sounds very appealling but im afraid im in China on a gig until next spring (I had 1 day to prepare to leave so forgot about the add on here) at the bass is at my mothers house in the UK so logistically it might work out too difficult. And because I wouldnt be able to play the bass until next year I'd probably rather have the cash so I could get something else over here. Thanks for the offer anyway. Kev

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like this trip has worked out, ive been in negotiations with the agent over travel expenses and they want me to fly tomorrow and the prices have just went through the roof so its a no go time. All the best, Kev

Hi guys, I bought this bass second hand earlier in the year to take on my gig to China. I played 4 45s for 110 nights between Feb and July and the bass never let me down once. Its a great bass, it looks good and has a very versatile sound. It is also very lightweight which is handy for long gigs. I also had a custom off white pickguard made by howard (the bass doc) and I will throw that in on top of the original black one. I'm looking for 550 ONO posted and if i get the full amount ill put on a brand new set of DR Sunbeams for the new owner. Will accept paypal if buyer covers the fees, bank transfer or cash on collection. There are a few small chips from the paint which were filled in by the previous owner and some corrosion on the pickup poles. This issues (if they even count as issues) are purely cosmetic and do not affect the function of the instrument in any way. Heres a couple of pics for now and I'll get some good quality close up shots soon. Please note that the hiscox case in the picture is not the SKB case that comes with the bass. Ill upload pictures of that case soon. The bass is with me at home in Hartlepool if you would like to collect it, im also gigging in the North Yorkshire area quite regularly throughout August so could meet up. Any questions then don't hesitate to get in touch. Thanks for looking Kev
