To get back on topic.... I personally hate fender flats, which are about the cheapest I think. They are very stiff and sort of liveless. I tried all the Thomastiks, LaBellas, etc. which are nice in their way, but quite costly. Then again they last about 25 years on my fretless !!! My best deal for the money are Galli flats. They do it for me at have the cost of LaBellas.

my 2 cents... Eden410XLT hard to beat sensitivity wise... very fine sound. Forget that made-in-vietnam-cheapo-sh*t-ampg-crap. Doesn´t even come close to eden, epifani, schroeder, bergantino, ea....

I tried the EBS Valve Drive, the VT, all the sans amp stuff, but I got stuck on 1986 H+K Bass Master with 2 tubes inside. Adds a nice crunch and a light distortion, even quite funky with slap/pop. For more distortion I got me a crowther´s Prunes&Custard.... that´s all I need (4 now!!!)
