1. Isn´t an SR5 about twice the price of a skyline ??
2. What if I send you an empty rockcase and you then send the whole thing to Germany?? PM me if interested. Cheers. The cost is only €25,- each way with GLS and it works in 24-48 hours. So, no hassle to you. The rock case is bullet proof, you just have to tape up the locks and she´s ready to go.
3. +1 on the springs.. also surgical rubber tubing on the srews is a good solution. You use very srew seperately to achieve the right pickup height, which doesn´t alway work with the sponges. Plus sponges harden over time...aaahh, who cares..
4. Mahogany back side from an old Singer sewing machine with a maple top, maple neck with rosewood board and two graphite rods for extra stiffness, lowest string action I ever senn and played, one single coil neck pup, one "bat-ears" humbucker as bridge pup. 6 way switch, activ/passiv, low, treble, mid pots to add up to 10 dB. Zero fret. Set neck. Notice the little plate at the base of the neck houses the truss rod wheel. Pickups, pots and bridge are all home grown by LeFay. Nice details I think. Next month I get to take the bass in for some work. Reiner says he developed a new bridge pickup with more growl and will change it free of charge. God bless good neighours. I gotta take some more pic of the back and neck... more later.
5. Yeah, you have to ask Reiner to build 4 stringers. Usually all 5 string is right. So I´ll publish some pics in a new fred..
6. Stage II is a bit more expensive.... I sold my Stage I for €1000,- that´s how much in pounds ??
7. It´s neck-thru... that´s how the neck ends on neck-thru wicks.... all is well
8. I think Stuart had enough dough to have a custom job made.... but those songs mentioned don´t sound fretless to me. Even though, there is quite some distortion, so who knows??
9. It´s just a wick Stage II with an ebony fretless neck and schmancy led´s.... who cares if it was owned by Stuart Z. Price ain´t bad if it´s in good condition and it is unique.... very little info offered by the seller. Arrogant d**k !!
10. LeFay Singer IV.... local german bass builder around the corner... check it out: http://www.lefay.de/ He builds the most amazing fretless, too.
11. No way the 1212R has a few more Watts, that´s all.
12. It´s a 1215L with custom measurements.. I got it barely used. The guy didn´t want it, cos it´s twice the height of a normal 1215. I like it fine and it weighs only 20 kg. The cases I make myself. the Korg tuner looks like sh*t imho... I gots to get a black one !! And the 410XLT has to go, too, to make room for a 1212R..
13. Rig Pics:
14. Thanx marmelade...
15. Coooool idea..
16. Lucky you... this is also pretty cool: http://www.skamones.de/ It has developed some from the days of Bad Manners and The Selecter. Ska lifes.
17. Right now it´s pure ska like: The Mighty Mighty Bosstones Rude, mon...
18. I love ska and I love ska punk bands... they are very successful in northern Germany.
19. My fav:
20. ´course... young guns playin speed/death metall stuff, a few bluesbands that have been together for 75 years !! Hard to break into those bands. i´ll start looking for a big band or gospel band for starters. Maybe the´re a bit more forgiving. Oh, I forgot... started in a punk band last year.. but got tired of playing gggggggg-aaaaaaaa-ccccccc, etc. and their constant beer chugging. Guess I´m a bit picky ??
21. Equipment is getting there... so now I gots to concentrate on practicing and finding a friggin´band..
22. Hi all, name´s Oliver, from Hamburg, Germany. Not quite young anymore I started learnig this great instrument 2 years ago at the age of 42. Tough to find a band at my age, unless one is into speed or death metal... I´ve been through about 15 basses and a bunch of equipment trying to find what I like. I guess it´s a lifelong journey Right now I am very happy with a Sadowsky NYC Standard and a LeFay Singer IV; a Modulus Quantum FL is a bit too much for me, so I´m hoping to sell it here. Amp is an Eden WT1205 with a 410XLT and a Schroeder 1215L, plus a Barabass combo with a 12er speaker. Lovin´this forum being more down to earth compared to the blubber on talkbass.
23. For sale a beautiful Modulus Quantum FL with a custom shop fretless carbon/ebony neck, alder body with a stunning quilted maple top, EMG P/J pickups and active 18V electronics. Made in 1992 in great condition; no buckle rashes, chipped laquer or anything. Long singing sustain, very versatile tone. Comes with a fine leather gigbag. Looking for around €1400,- or interesting trades. More pics per mail.
