1.
Well they rhyme with sh*****. :brow: That's not very helpful is it? Sorry I'll get my coat.
Well, it's a start.
 2.
WAKEY WAKEY!
C'mon, an old man has to have his kip somewhere.
 3. I know they're an acquired taste but I love Ritter basses. Has anyone gigged one? How do they sound? I'm intrigued.
 4.
 5. How often do you gig?
 6. This was a great time for UK soul/funk.
 7. Some great choices there! Loved the Dave Grusin track with Abe. GQ track is a classic.
 8. I've played 'I Shoulda Loved Ya' many times in a now defunkt funk band. TM Stevens on bass.
 9. Good work, Bubinga. Steve Arrington's 'Mellow As A Cello' is an amazing groove, but I can't seem to find it on YT.
 10. I would say 'Cut The Cake' is one of my favourite all-time tracks.
 11. One of the best bands of the era, and one of the best players, too. Check out that tone! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-jUXiJf9OQ...PL&index=43
 12. I wore that AWB album out. Still the best funk album out there. As for the Ohio Players...'Fire' is one of the most important tracks in soul/funk music IMO.
 13. Sometimes it's difficult to comprehend how great he really is. And so effortless, too.
 14. Not seen this version before...genius. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dz03O1dwnSQ
 15.
interesting Fender Jazz bass, 4 pots.....or it maybe me I know jack about Fenders! great player too
Anyone know who the bass player is? Tom Barney? Damn, I want a Jazz now!
 16.
You could always stick your tuner elsewhere in the signal chain. Does the LMK have a tuner out / line out somewhere? That way you'd avoid excessive input if that's the problem and if it's the tuner causing it. EDIT: Just looked it up - it has a tuner out.
I tried the 'tuner out' socket. It doesn't respond very well, plus you can't mute the signal.
 17.
Here's How:

Move along side wall of venue until level with the front of the stage. Turn through 90 degrees
Raise your hand and wave, as if to someone across the room
Proceed smartly across the front of the stage, continuing to wave.
Keep your head pointed forwards at all times while swivelling your eyes to track the gear. Moving your head is the mark of the hobbyist.
If someone on stage notices you, ignore them. If challenged, produce a card bearing the following words:
"I cannot speak. Barbary pirates cut out my tongue. Can I have a go on your bass, mate?"
18. Who can forget these guys? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IswTG1qa5k
 19.
Ah, yes, my favoured approach. The old 'Gear-Cruise'. Subtle, yet entirely effective.
A Gear Cruise. Imagine that?
 20. I'm expecting the 'fretw***ery' remarks, but there no denying this guy has a monster technique and groove. Up there with the greats IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w6fTKOhgAI
 21.
I used to get people asking about the 6 string bass and the huge pedalboard, but that's 'cos they're unusual. I have on occasion checked out gear, or asked about gear, but only when i've heard it first and become interested that way.
Unusual? The gear or the people?
 22. I've had more people come up to me since I started using the Roscoe, presumably because it's quite a rare beast over here. I always oblige if they want a quick go unplugged at the end.
 23.
At a gig a couple of years ago I'd finished setting up - LMII, Ampeg 410, Fender Precision, TU2, Punch Factory - when a guy wanders over and says 'Is that your gear?', I say 'Yes', and he says 'I bet you're one of those people who buys Bass Guitar Magazine'.
24. At your gigs, do you get 'gearstalkers'...folk that, as soon as the doors open, gather at the front of the stage and check out your gear? Can you admit to being one?
 25.
Yeah, this is where im struggling. Thanks
Slap bass is hard to master. Just keep at it. You'll get it eventually.
