Quick bump for tonight's gig.

When I posted about Blur on the Brits, I was referring to the overall performance being crap and not Alex James. I must admit that the earlier post comparing him to Nathan East was a touch daft in my opinion. Can you see Alex with Fourplay? Nathan East is one of the best bass players in the world. Alex James is a bassist with limited experience, other than the pop band he has made a successful living with. I'm a firm believer in that the bass part should complement the song, however simple.

I've just been listening to this band again. Their bassist is world class and I predict big things for him. He is the next Victor Wooten.

I've discovered playing with one finger is easier than you think.

Just had a run through and my Jamerson technique seems pretty good.

It's one of those bloody whitlow things. I get them fairly often but they usually clear up quickly.

My plucking middle finger is swollen and infected, and I have a gig in York tomorrow. Might have to do a Jamerson and try to use just the first finger. Saying that, I heard that Stevie Wonder once shut a limo door on Nate's fingers just before a gig and he managed to play.
