1.
Is there anything that isn't really of value that you just can't part with?
My life.
 2. "Stickistas" - a compilation album featuring 40 tracks by Hispanic Chapman Stick players.
 3. Just restrung my Spector - will put the old strings in the post asap (they're in pretty good nick).
..... I think the OP's point (with which I agree) is that when it comes to selling, there needs to be a clear delineation between fact and opinion.
But making that point with nothing more than an opinion of his own tends to defeat his own argument, no?
 5.
Digital also gets you around the licensing issue
For now.
A: I'm getting fed up with folk passing sweeping statements and not stating that it is merely their opinion.

B: An early 80s P bass for instance is for sale at the moment. It is made by an excellent maker and is no doubt a superb bass.
Anybody else spot the contradiction between quote A & quote B?
 7. A secondhand rosewood 12 string Chapman Grand Stick in matched reciprocal tuning, much like the one I (hopefully) have arriving on Saturday.
 8. That sounds pretty good.
 9.
Mainly Rickenbacker on the album (two tracks with the Jazz). I thought he used the Steinberger on the tour though, but the tourbook says not.
I'm pretty sure he played the Rick all night when I saw them at Wembley on the Signals tour.
 10. Another vote for the Markbass here. I bought one secondhand a few months ago & it's a great little combo (I still think the Markbass stuff looks like a cheap kids toy though......)
 11. I've just picked up a secondhand Rane SP13 Stick preamp - that can mean only one thing......
 12. Signals is a superb album & "Chemistry" features what is probably my favourite guitar solo of all time too. Having said that I think "Countdown" is a an absolute dog of a song.
 13. You don't - if they're interested then they're interested, but don't try & force your interest in music onto your kids; there's nothing worse than being forced to do something you have no interest in.
 14. Doug Pinnick has one of the greatest rock voices ever IMO. Kings X deserved to be HUGE - absolutely awesome band.
 15.
My Shadow In Vain - Tubeway Army
Good man - I'm a big Paul Gardiner fan. All the bass parts on that first album are great.
 16.
Marcus, what's the longest you've saved up for a bass?
It was probably a lot longer than he kept it for......
 17.
If you could ask Rocco Prestia anything, professional or personal, what would you want to know?
I'd ask him if he could get me your phone number while he's talking to you.
 18. There's a Stick thread here if you've not seen it. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/164195-the-stick-thread/ I'm hopefully going to be getting another Stick in the next few weeks.
 19. Don't know how "high end" you want the parts to be but the Trevor Wilkinson tuners & bridges are UK designed & are pretty good quality, probably not made here though.
 20. I bought one back in the 80s but it sounded so horrible I took it back & got a refund.
 21. Can't go wrong with Levinson gear, it's superb. I used a B4 jazz bass as my main instrument for 20 years & I've also got a Texas Standard strat style guitar which beats the crap aout of any "proper" strat I've ever played.
 22.
....... a Dynacord BS412 combo, with an EV 15”.
Absolutely superb amp.
 23.
We got this far without Mark King. Does this tell you something about BC folk's vision of slap?
All it tells me is that you didn't read posts #44 & #47, and that some people aren't copying & pasting in the order the lists are being compiled in.
 24.
....as does Trevor Bolder.
I put him on the list 30 odd posts ago. I see my inclusion of Nick Beggs has been edited from the list too.
 25.
What about celeb bassists even though not known as 'inspirational' thinking along the lines of TG Hamster , he plays a bit , would that count , he is a VERY celebrity kind of dude .
