1. Oops. Double post.
2. I wouldn't class myself as a Bowie "fan" but you really should listen to George Murrays playing on the "Stage" album. Him & Dennis Davis are one of my favourite rhythm sections of all time. The version of "Stay" on that album is jaw-droppingly good. The whole band on that album is just incredible, one of the best ever assembled IMO.
3. Is the Styx album good then? Not had a chance to hear it yet. I thought "The Mission" was pretty good.
4. Awesome, thanks. What's the condition like, any chips, dings? - looks great in the photos. I've hopefully got somebody buying a guitar off me this week, if that goes ahead you shall be hearing from me again...
5. Can't choose just one, but my favourite albums of 2021 so far are: Becky Becky - Maraca The Anchoress - The Art of Losing Gojira - Fortitude Jean Michel Jarre - Amazonia Adrian Smith & Richie Kotzen - Smith/Kotzen
6. Is this still available? What are the controls on it? (couldn't see what the guy in the video was doing as the controls are out of shot)
7. I like the albums Dio did with Sabbath but I can't stand him singing the Ozzy era stuff, just doesn't work for me.
8. It's actually "Treating people just like pawns in chess"...
9. Sold (via Gumtree. That was a waste of £7.00... 😂 )
10. To answer a couple of earlier questions: Scale length is 34" Weight (on my digital scales) is exactly 9lbs. It also has 0% body fat.🙂 I would consider delivering this bass for the cost of the train fare if that's any use to anyone.
11. I’m pretty certain it’s 34” but I’ll check to make sure.
12. I don't know how much it weighs, but I've never thought of it as heavy. I've certainly owned heavier basses.
13. Happens a lot around here. Lots of people cream their pants over the latest "must have", buy it & then sell it a few days/weeks/months later to fund their next wet dream purchase.
14.
Interesting bass that Sheryl Crow was playing last night, some kind of short-scale Guild. Anybody know what it was?
I think it was some kind of short-scale Guild.
15. The 80s were easily my favourite decade.
16. 70s Progressive Rock & Folk Rock.
17.
I can't recall seeing any preamp that doesn't use the jack to switch it on and off?
My Jaydee Supernatural had a mini toggle switch between the volume & tone controls for the active circuit.
18. Is where you place your compressor now classed as an event?
19. I play pretty much an equal amount of plectrum & fingerstyle & have never felt the need to adjust my strap. I found a height that suited me for both & left it at that.
Yes. There are a couple in the Music Warehouse in Colchester. 200 yards from the office!!
It is your destiny....
21. I usually love watching Eurovision but I just can't be arsed with it this year.
Think Ralph Towner rather than strummy guitar.
Towner uses Guilds a lot.
