1. I'm in the process of selling all of my gear apart from my one "cheapy" bass. The idea was to get rid of a load of stuff I don't use to free up a stack of cash to buy some new stuff (mainly a Chapman Stick to replace the one I sold a few years ago). Now I find myself with a good few thousand quid at my disposal & all I can think is "what's the point of wasting this money on more stuff I'll hardly ever play?"
2.
I'm on a big....Todd Rundgren tip at the moment and they are greatly inspiring me and giving me thrills.
Good man.
3. Oh I do miss John Martyn - we shall ne'er see his like again.
4.
I think my biggest musical thrills are going to come from future recordings I will make. What about you?
No, I don't think my biggest musical thrills are going to come from future recordings you will make. My own limited recorded musical legacy is unfortunately pretty dreadful - what little of it I still have I find difficult if not impossible to listen to. I have some recordings of writing sessions/jams from a few years back that I quite like, but find them pretty depressing to listen to as, yet again, they came to nothing.
5. We used to sell the Ohm range in the music shop I worked in in the early 80s. It was all really good quality kit - I used one of their 6x10 cabs with a Trace Elliot head for years. The little Tramp practice combos were good as well.
6. It's a serious problem, especially if you hate having to interact with other people as much as I do. I've recently sold pretty much all my gear for this reason. When I was younger I was happy to just noodle around on my own, now I get no pleasure from doing that whatsoever.
7.
I don't know it's price on the market so please make offer.
Forum rules say that you must state a price, you cannot just ask for offers.
8.
And a body shape that suits one person doesn't always suit others. There are several well-known shapes (especially basses) that I find completely uncomfortable. Weird pointy shapes aren't always uncomfortable.
This. The two most uncomfortable guitar shapes I've ever played are Strats & Les Pauls. My Hamer USA Standard (explorer shaped) however, was incredibly comfortable.
9. Maiden are very much old school metal/heavy rock though aren't they? Anyway, Adrian Smiths "Fender" is his signature model Jackson.
10. Either the neck or the bridge is seriously out of line on that. Seriously hideous, so it's quite a good copy of a Bongo.
11. I wouldn't bother with any of the shops to be honest, try this guy: http://www.edgeguitarservices.co.uk/
12. Great colour. Bloody good price too for a Japanese Fender.
13. It might not even be a Fender - the yanks had a habit of referring to ANY electric bass on a recording as "Fender Bass" for many years.
14. PM's replied to & now on hold pending payment/collection.
15. Cardiff. No trades as I'm getting rid of everything.
16. Getting rid of my amp as I'm not playing anymore. EBS Gorm ET350 combo - 350 watts into a 1x15 speaker & tweeter. Selling this cheaply because I had to have it repaired when something happened to the input stage. Sounds fine now but does sometimes make a crackly sound when the power is turned off. SOLD AS SEEN DUE TO THE REPAIR. PICK UP ONLY PLEASE. I'm not messing about trying to ship this for a measly £150!!
17. If that was any cheesier it would have to be kept in a fridge. Absolutely f***ing ghastly.
18.
Here you go then, Musicman Stingray, was my main bass since Dec 1999 till I started with the 5 string - I love it so much that I tried to track down a 5 string in this colour on this forum, but the owner understandably didn't want to part with it... I still want one though I doubt this is going anywhere!
That is a fantastic colour!
19. It works the other way too - stuff manufactured in Europe is a lot more expensive in the USA than it is here. Pyramid & Thomastick strings are incredibly expensive in the USA for example.
20. What's the neck profile like on this - is it nice & chunky like a precision or is it more like a jazz?
21. A mosh pit? Who the f*** wears an orange cardigan in a mosh pit?
22. I love my Zons but since buying my Spector Euro 5LX earlier this year I never play them. There are other instruments I want to get (not basses) & the only way I can do that is by selling the ones I don't use anymore.
