1.
If it said 'Wal' someone would have paid him four grand for it.....
2. Still using mine for many hours every day (I wear them in bed & when I go out) & the foam tips are still as good as new.
 3.
Surely if it was a Limelight or Nash, it would look a lot better than that?
"Better" is subjective.
 4.
I am firmly in the first camp, if the gigs completely dried up, my gear would be sold and I'd be gone. For me, it has always been and always will be about playing to audiences. The only time I play at home is when I have to learn new songs. I do my best to avoid time in recording studios as I find it boring beyond description, but I know people who consider that the pinnacle of musical perfection. I obviously understand that there are people with different opinions to me, but that doesn't help me to understand them!
Fine, but the big difference between you & Blue is you don't feel the need to start argumentative threads about pretty much the same bloody subject every week or so.
 5.
I would hope I'm not mean spirited. At times I'll post something orovacative but not mean. Of course people play for different reasons. However, you won't convince me that playing alone in the bedroom is more fun than playing with other musicians to a live engaged audience. Recording and writing film scores is completely different. You won't get an argument out of me there. Blue
I'm not trying to convince you of anything. It is however a fact that some people are passionate about playing but have no interest whatsoever in playing live or being an entertainer. How is recording & writing film scores "completely different"? Most of the people I know who do that work on their own in their bedrooms which, you are adamant, is not as much fun as playing live. All it seems you want to do is bitch & sneer at people who aren't exactly like you.
 6.
Agreed, Playing alone in the bedroom has always been more fun than playing to a live engaged audience. Blue
Do you have some kind of cognitive impairment that doesn't allow you to understand that not everybody plays for the same reasons as you or are you just a mean spirited troll? I know musicians who would stop playing if they couldn't gig, the entertainment part of it is the most important thing. I also know plenty of musicians who have no interest in playing live & spend their time working on recording & writing projects, film scores etc. Both types of people love & enjoy what they do passionately.
 7.
I'm not sure if they're having much fun, but maybe fun has changed too.
Fun hasn't changed. Fun was, is & always will be a purely subjective thing. Just because somebody is doing something you wouldn't enjoy doesn't mean that person isn't having as much fun doing it as you have when you are gigging.
 8.
I'm not sure if that's self deprecating in telling us that you don't use your brain, or showing off that your brain is genuine musical equipment
Definitely the former.
 9.
So, as bassists we like the low notes right?
No. I prefer the sound of the middle range of the instrument. I've yet to hear a low B that I didn't think sounded sh*te. If I want really low bass I'll play it on something that is better at doing it, like a synth.
 10. If it said Limelight or Nash on the headstock people would be creaming their pants over it.
 11. I laughed when i saw that too - "put a shirt on, you're 50"
 12. Some of us can't afford more than one bass.
 13.
I spent all last year trying to get a modern country band together. It proved impossible to get a guitarist that wasn't a classic rock player. Every profile on every band site and every guitarist all seemed to list classic rock as their interest first! I even swapped to guitar to try and solve the issue...but ultimately I'm not a good enough guitarist to pull it off so I gave up!
That's because it's a lot easier to be a decent classic rock guitarist than it is to be a decent country guitarist.
 14.
Cheers Rhys - hope you're well. Lovely bass - will have a think on this one.
I'm good thanks! Hope you're doing OK. It is a lovely one isn't it? Good price too.
 15.
Where are you based? Sorry - I'm on my phone so can't see your location from your profile...
Cwmbran, South Wales.
 16. Try here: http://www.leadsdirect.co.uk/custom-leads/
 17. Done. Think Chris Squire and/or Geddy Lee should have been on that final list though.
 18. With question 5 do you mean to you personally or to bass playing in general?
 19.
1000x yes! One of the few bands that completely blew me away the first time (and every time) I saw them.
I never got to see them live unfortunately.
 20.
I am so enjoying this guitar.
Excellent! Did you get rid of your ES175 after?
 21.
could you imagine getting "Dummy" by Portishead on vinyl? How would you know which pops and clicks were from the original recording and which had been acquired by your personal copy of the record?
I'm going to have to buy a vinyl copy of "Dummy" now & keep taking it back because it's scratched.
