1. I don't have the faintest idea to be perfectly honest with you.
2. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's a Q4 model.
3. I got in from work about 12.30 today & thought I'd have a look what was available now the tickets are on general sale. After being offered some pretty awful seats via a "Priority Early Booking" link last Tuesday I wasn't holding out much hope of getting any tickets at all. I've now got two tickets in a far better position than anything that was offered to me earlier in the week & am pretty happy with them. It made me wonder if the ticket agencies use these "Priority" booking things as a way of shifting the crap tickets they usually get left with by making people think that's all that is available. Maybe I'm just being cynical.......
4. I cannot believe nobody is snapping this up at £650!!
5. My Avira antivirus programme quite often kicks in when I'm on Basschat - moreso than any other website in fact.
6. I was incredibly surprised to go onto the website to take the test only to find that I've already done it. I have absolutely no recollection whatsoever of doing this test before.
7. There are already touts on Ebay asking £339.00 for two £75.00 face value tickets that aren't even in the front couple of rows! Oh well, this'll be the first time since the Signals tour in 1982 that I haven't seen them.
8. Well, I was sent a link to a special priority early ticket sale thing for Rush tickets that opened at 2pm this afternoon. The link went live at 13.58, I went onto it & already the only seats available were sh*tty ones right at the back. How does this happen? I bet if I go onto Ebay now it will be full of great tickets at ludicrous prices. It really pisses me off.
9.
I'm starting to suspect that we were either seperated at birth or one of our parent's had a bike...
That in itself would make a great folk song - the only problem is one of us would have to die by the others hand before we found out we were brothers.
10.
There was a thread here about early musical influences, and I'm not sure whether people were most amused or horrified by my initial revelation that The Wombles were my first influence or whether it was my transition to Steeleye Span that finished my fellow posters off.
One of the first singles I ever bought was "Super Womble". I also went on to discover the delights of Steeleye Span, The Albion Band & Fairport Convention and many others, music I still love to this day. Weird. Time for a serious Wombles retrospective at Cecil Sharp House methinks.
11. Welcome - there's always room for another Geezer Butler fan. Are you sure you've got the hang of this Goth thing? You seem quite cheerful to me.
12. Welcome! I didn't know about the Framus/Warwick connection. The old Framus Jan Akkerman model is one of my favourite guitars of all time.
13. Check these guys out: http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/9v-dc-regulated-power-supply-for-single-effects-3-p.asp I use one of their 9 volt daisy chain supplies & it's great.
14. Dylan going electric was bad enough, but JAZZ?!! You JUDAS!!
15.
Geoff Mason, the guy who built the Fingerbone Fretless I have said that if you had a lacquered finish you were basically playing plastic rather than the wood of a rosewood or ebony board.
A picture of the Fingerbone would be nice!
16.
Yarr. What bass is that?
It's a custom Iceni Zoot bass.
17.
I paid good money for my gear and couldn't afford to replace it so I take good care of it. Ultimately my gear is tools not family heirlooms so wear & tear happens but even so I'll do my best to minimise that wear & tear.
This.
18.
BTW, the Wave bass is RARE
I was going to say exactly this, but you beat me to it. Rocking horse sh*t is easier to come by than a Wave bass. A friend of mine has a Wave Supreme guitar & it's awesome.
19.
That used to be mine! I'm not really a five string player so traded it for a Euro 4. Still, the finest fiver I've ever played. Incredible B string.
It belonged to you as well? This bass is turning out to have been a bit of a slut on the quiet..... It's the best 5er I've ever played too; the B string really is great - really clear & focussed & perfectly balanced with the other strings. I haven't touched my 4 string Zons since I got it, which I really wasn't expecting to happen.
20. There are these lovely italian made basses that the builder posts in the Affiliates thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/122851-biarnel-liuteria-handmade-from-italy/ Some of the best looking basses ("fancy" without being "coffee table" IMO) I've seen & the prices are pretty good too. If I was in the market for a custom build these would be right at the top of the list.
21.
Do you think the band/family things are compatible?
The divorce rate among professional musicians is one of the highest there is.
22.
I've just put down the bass to Honkytonk woman, in 3/4 time, and they wanted fretless. About the same tempo as "You picked a fine time to leave me" by Kenny Rogers. They're now on their way to get the accordion part put down
Sounds like it will be infinitely better than the original. The spell checker on my computer just highlighted "Honkytonk". When I right clicked for the correct spelling it changed it to "Phytoplankton"
23.
i could hear some chorus and envelope going on, it is a great bass sound
That's exactly right, he used the Eventide for the chorus effect (no Boss pedals for Chris! )
24. An Eventide Harmonizer & probably also a Mutron (for the wah type effect). Squires sound on that album is absolutely wonderful.
