1. You're finding it a chore. Also sounds to me like there's a bit of a clash maturity-wise. Knock it on the head & let them find another bass player to play rock stars with.
2. Just bought a Diago Gigman pedalboard from Andy - paid him Thursday evening & it arrived first thing today (Saturday) - couldn't have been any quicker! Great to deal with & highly recommended!
3. I've never had the slightest interest in buying or even just trying out loads of amps & cabs. I've only had four amps (three combos & a stack) in 33+ years of playing, and I'm still not sure why I bought the last one as I was perfectly happy with the one it replaced.
4. Do you have any idea what postage in the UK would cost for this please?
5. I also run my Headrush on a daisy chain with other pedals & don't experience any problems of the sort you mention.
6. It was a guy from The Bass Centre in Wapping as I recall. Didn't get any of them right.
7.
At last, I have finally completed my rig.
Yeah, right....... Congratulations on finding a set-up that you love - some people never manage it. Ashdown ABM's are great amps. They get a lot of bad press on here, but I loved the one I had & regret getting rid of it.
8. Talking of influences - I always remember a quote from Billy Sheehan talking about influences in the way you play where he said that "influences are not just the things you love, they are also the things you reject", which I thought was absolutely spot on.
9. Just bought a rather lovely Spector Euro LX five string from Trev. He was incredibly patient & understanding when my first attempts to arrange meeting up were thwarted by factors beyond my control. Finally met up yesterday & what a thoroughly likable & interesting bloke he is! Had a couple of quick pints & a natter & could have happily stayed in the pub all night. Cannot recommend him highly enough!
10. I love a lot of their stuff but I think their version of "Hello it's me" is atrocious; even worse than the original Nazz version.
11. John Siegler, original bassist for Todd Rundgrens Utopia.
12.
Ive lost the plot is it sold "£????????
It most certainly is - I'm picking it up today.
13.
George Murray - Bowie's 'Low', 'Scary Monsters..' 'Lodger' , 'Heroes', Iggy Pop 'Idiot'
Great choice - George Murray & Dennis Davis were a killer rhythm section on the Bowie stuff, especially the live album "Stage".
14.
Frank Blair. What bass is that by the way ? Aria of some sort ?
Couldn't see it well enough to make it out, but I know he used to be a Carvin endorsee so it might be one of those. Anyway, FAR nicer than the bass is the awesome Sea Foam Green Hamer SS2 that Eddie Martinez is playing!
15. This is getting like a bass version of "Who do you think you are?" - I'll have to draw up a family tree for it.
16.
Did you know Bag End is a literal translation of the French 'cul de sac'?
So Bell End would be "Cul de Cloche" then?
17.
Is it acceptable for a pro musician to drink?
Can I assume from that sentence that you never had the pleasure of seeing John Martyn live?
18. Welcome to the forum Sallie. I notice you have "Cats" listed in your interests column. There's a place for them here too in the forum cat lovers thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/168224-post-your-pusscat-pictures-here/page__hl__catshttp://basschat.co.uk/topic/168224-post-your-pusscat-pictures-here/page__hl__cats
19. There's been one on Ebay for a while that has remained unsold at £500. The seller has recently lowered the price to £475 but has still had no takers. I bought a New old stock 1x15 version of this combo about 18 months ago for £500.
20.
Which rehearsal rooms is it?
Yes, name please.

22. As much as I love "Shadows & Light" I far prefer the studio version of "Dry Cleaner from Des Moines" from "Mingus" because of Jaco's wonderful big band horn arrangement.
