Gizmotron 2.0

I've got an original Bass Gizmotron, unfortunately the wheels are all snapped off. The rubbery plastic they used to make them out of went really brittle as it aged.
2. Can't go wrong with Labella, flats or rounds. Great strings.
3.
Know everyone's names!
Including the audience?
4.
I think the Boomtown Rats' "Rat pack" was on a TB.
Pretty sure that was a Kramer.
5.
Spacebass is a bit nutty for me, so is the white blob. However I really love the look of the millimetric bass, even the headstock has grown on me. Anyone played it before?
I like that!
6. It's an amazing feeling isn't it? My old band had a track played by John Peel in 1990, and I had a solo acoustic song played by a local radio in Cornwall in 2015. It's a real buzz.
7. My Zons because they were superb & I'll never be able to afford basses like that again.
8. I've never understood the appeal of them, but there's no doubt they're very popular.
9.
In a sports day, someone is fastest/highest/strongest, even if the hippies refuse to acknowledge it. But whose bass playing is best? Which painting is best? Which song is best? Which book is best? Welsh cakes or scones?
Welsh Cakes.
10. I can go for months without picking up a guitar or bass, lose all interest in it.
11.
If I buy another fretless bass, it will definitely be one of these.
I really like these but that bloody awful shitburst finish is a deal beaker for me. Shame they don't offer them in different finishes.
12. Is that the old "Psycho Killer" clip? David Byrne always sounds like Homer Simpson in that clip to me.
13. "Sugar Sugar" by The Archies "Oh Lori" by The Alessi Brothers.
14.
I have 2 PJ's (one I modded and one I bought) and IMO a PJ just sounds like a P with a bit more EQ. I have the J turned off on my Mike Lull PJ5 because it sounds better as a straight P. My Jazz basses and Lakland sound better than the PJ if I want that sound. I'll swim against the tide here and say I don't think a PJ is worth the mod. If you want to cover the sonic territory you still need a Jazz or another 2 pickup bass so adding a J to a Precision is just the sound equivalent of putting go faster stripes on it. If you have a P bass that sounds good, be happy with it. If you need a different sound, get another bass. Sometimes more is not better.
This is exactly how I've always felt about P/J basses.
15. Nice work, looks really good.
16. They do that sometimes. Just use a bit of loctite threadlock or something similar on it.
17.
I saw Kings X supporting someone else (I can't remember who but Megadeth, AC/DC or Alice Cooper would be the prime candidates) at the NEC in Birmingham back in the early 90s. They where superb, although they suffered from the usual low turnout for support acts at arena gigs.
I think they supported AC/DC.
18.
Rhys, if you come to the Bierkeller, do not get the Guinness, it tastes of cider, i very much doubt the pipes have ever been cleaned, also the banana or toffee beer is chuff I'll e the more than eager one up front with a beverage that has come from a bottle...
Good to hear the Bierkeller hasn't changed after all these years.
19. If you've not seen them before you're in for a treat, they're a superb live band. Seen them quite a few times over the years. Might get tickets for Bristol, be a nice change not to have to travel to London to see them.
20. Luckily my partner has no interest in music whatsoever so it's never been a problem.
21.
I might have to mention John McGeoch's fabulous guitar work
McGeoch was a superb guitarist. It's Robin Simon in those clips though.
