1. You shouldn't need any drivers to use that interface with a Mac. Ther are various little buttons on each track, one of them has a picture of some headphones on it - have you made sure this is switched on?
 2. It reminds me of the multitracked jingles Kenny Everett used to make many years ago.
 3.
The god-like Martin Taylor referred to young Jacob as "the most incredible musician on planet earth at the moment", so he must be doing something right
I'd much rather listen to Martin Taylor.
 4. Because when I started playing nearly all my favourite players used one.
 5. It sounded really disjointed & artificial to me so pretty much unlistenable after about 30 seconds.
 6.
this has always troubled me, only I prefer the A string to the E string, the A string always sounds punchier and clearer to me, cuts through the mix better, whenever possible I avoid using the E string, I'm not a fan of fivers as you can imagine
I'm exactly the same, hate the sound of anything above the fourth fret on the E string.
 7. If you're looking for mainly metal tones it's worth having a look at the Blackstar stuff.
 8. Personally I've always preferred Kahlers, a lot of people don't like the feel of them though.
 9.
You mean you'd put up with a band you didn't like for a bunk-up.
I'd put up with women I don't like for a bunk-up...
 10.
For me, it is always 'i don't like the music'. The reason I don't like the music may be different but the fundamental problem is always the same.
Funnily enough this is exactly the same reason people always give for hating jazz.
 11.
People inviting their mates to join without asking the rest of us.
This was what happened in the last band I joined. I had reservations about doing it anyway, but somebody recommended me so I went along to meet the drummer & guitarist & we got along very well & all seemed to want to do the same thing. Turn up to the first practice and there is somebody else there, a "Keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist" who was pretty terrible at playing all of them. It quickly became apparent that as well as having a huge ego he was also a passive aggressive little bastard who enjoyed nothing more than sh*t stirring at every available opportunity. I quit about four weeks into it & vowed never to get involved in any musical project with anyone ever again.
 12.
Sounds like you should have given him the mic or a guitar.
That's exactly what I was about to say.
 13.
Like this? I am obsessed with the first song. It sounds like we have the same old school musical tastes.
Yeah, I love the Watkins Family stuff & their other band Nickel Creek.
 14.
Me too, I know what you mean. Maybe I need a new band playing a totally new genre. I am oddly drawn towards country and bluegrass right now!
Funnily enough, after a lifetime of old school metal & prog rock, country & bluegrass is pretty much all I listen to now!
 15.
I'm glad its not just me. I do agree though that the Beautiful South is grounds for band divorce though.
I probably hate far more bands than I like...
 16.
I can, The Verve.
Fair point.
 17.
I left one band because the keyboard player liked the Beautiful South.
I can't think of a better reason.
 18. I was in a few bands before I realised the bottom line for me was that I just don't enjoy being in bands.
 19. Punchy & mid centred sounds just like my kind of amp!
 20. I'm going to have to try one of these combos out - I have no intention of buying one but I'm just intrigued to find out if they are as great as everyone is saying they are.
 21. They are excellent basses, the one I had was lovely.
 22.
It's kind of a hybrid USA/Japanese model I think, or a very early NJ series one. I say that because although it's not the exotic custom one with all the fancy active electronics, it has some features such as the through neck that weren't on the later NJ series. Whatever it is, it's still the bass I would call my 'go to' bass for gigs, rehearsals or any very occasional recording.
Lovely!
