Lemmy on "Space Ritual" was a massive influence on my bass playing.

It does look a bit like a Wal though....

I don't like 99% of the bands I listened to & went to see years ago.

I was by far the oldest person in the last two bands I was in. I found it really uncomfortable to be honest, I just felt like a stupid, sad old man.

I don't really do anything now, after 37 years of playing I've almost completely lost interest in music.

Not nice, not a monstrosity, just very, very dull.

Might be a good idea to mention where you are based.

You could also try saying "Why would I smile when I have to spend the evening in the company of ***** like you?" or something similar.

Next time somebody says that ask them if they smile constantly when they are doing their job.

[/quote] She is a very good bass player indeed, and a lovely person too. I was aware of Kimberley anyway because of his work with the Softboys, and yes he is a very good writer. The thing I was most impressed with was that she knew Matthew Seligman, who is one of my favourite bass players. I'd love to get over to Cambridge sometime to see her band Gig-l - I met Claudia & Christine too & they were great.

The only instrument I've got that I'd seriously call a "Keeper" is my Atkin Rosewood OM Standard acoustic guitar. Over the last few years it's been all over the place & has been involved in some very memorable & personal stuff with me so I'd only get rid of it as an absolute last resort. Everything else I've got I'd happily sell right now if somebody offered me the right money for it, not attached to any of it.

What I didn't realise at the time was that one of the women on the course was the wife of Kimberley Rew, the guy that wrote it....

"I'll be there for you" is right up there with "Walking on Sunshine" on my list of songs that make me want to go on a killing spree.
