My 1982 Asia T shirt is still with me, though I dont wear it anymore. Got lots of t shirts from the mid/late 80's that I still wear. My sister still has her Rush "Tour of the Hemispheres" t shirt. Just remembered my 1982 Rush "Signals" T shirt is still going strong too, but I gave it to my sister because hers fell apart.

I haven't played a bass for most of the year. I've even started selling off my other music gear as I'm not using that much either - my keyboard has gone & I'm probably going to get rid of all my electric guitars too & just hang onto my acoustic. My interest in playing & listening to music has pretty much disappeared completely this year, don't even enjoy going to gigs much anymore.

Lots of ticket stubs, quite a few plectrums & quite a few autographed programmes, albums & CDs. My favourite things though are my two backstage passes from Two David Gilmour solo shows.

A very interesting documentary, but it unfortunately looked like it had been filmed by a first year art student and as a result it got annoying very quickly.

I've used them on bass & guitar & didn't notice any difference in how long they lasted compared to the Labella or GHS strings I normally use. I also found them to sound quite dull straight out of the packet.

I cannot stand blues but I was assured by the people who gave me the ticket that going to this gig would change my mind. It didn't.

A friend of mine came to see them with me once & it's really not his sort of music but he was blown away by them too - his comment afterwards was something like "I'd never buy an album by them but I'll never miss a live show by them after that"

I wouldn't want to buy it back, but there are times when I wish I'd just stuck with the first decent gear I had - A black Rickenbacker 4001 & a Sunn Beta Bass combo.

Who gets to decide what is "Music of lasting value" & "Mere ephemera"?

[/quote] If I'm reading the original post correctly the kettle lead was the replacement they sent, the original 12v power supply is a European one which, as a couple of people have said, you can buy an adaptor for for a few quid.

My experience with EBS customer service & their UK distributor left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, to the extent I'd never use their stuff again. I once bought an EBS Gorm combo which was classed as 'new old stock' - before I bought it I contacted EBS to find out if the warranty would still count because of this & they assured me it would. When the input section developed a fault I contacted them about repairing the amp - the same person who told me they would honour the warranty told me they wouldn't touch it because it was new old stock.

Personally I think the amount of power lots of people use for pub gigs these day is ludicrous. Back when I was gigging regularly and going to see lots of live local bands in the late 80's/early 90's nobody used anything over 150 watts for bass & I cannot recall anybody ever being too quiet.
