1. That fake Warwick doesn't look any less sh*te than a 'proper' one to me... I think the Corvette has to be the ugliest bass in the history of the universe, the very definition of 'turd on a stick'.
2. I'd very much take that as a compliment.
3. 22 watts for guitar isn't small, especially when you're looking at valve amps.
4. Yeah, I'd say that's an SD Curlee.
5.
Matter of interest, I blocked the nozzle in a bottle of PVA with a woodscrew and the screw went rusty in about a week. Anybody ever used glue and then had a problem with the screw going rusty and breaking, or not being able to get the screw out ?
Water based adhesive + metal screw = rusty screw.
6. It's also in Japan so by the time you've added shipping and import/VAT costs it's not a bargain at all.
7.
Good. Please can you save me some time and post a link or the information here? I've got a good size bag here to go to them.
Here's a link to the website: http://weneedstrings.com They're not taking any more strings at the moment though unfortunately.
8.
U2 couldnt!!!
I wondered who'd be the first.....
9. Can you delete this thread please mods? I've found what I was looking for. Thanks.
10. There was a thread on here a while ago (I thought it was pinned but I can't find it) about a place that accepts string donations - anybody know where it is? Thanks.
11. Do you have to play "Rhythm Stick" in a gigging band? If not then why beat yourself up over not playing it properly? I've been playing bass for 36 years, I've never bothered with Rhythm Stick as I f***ing hate the song. Just because it seems to be some kind of bass players rite of passage thing has never been a good enough reason to learn stuff I can't stand. I most certainly don't have "The Funk", but as I don't like or listen to funk music I've never regarded it as a problem....
12. I find the daily grind pretty unbearable & think "F**k this!" several dozen times a day. I would do this whether I played an instrument or not though so I don't think that's got anything to do with it in my case.
13.
Lovely
Thanks. I saw it & just had to buy it.
14. A MIJ Fender Jazzmaster in Burgundy Mist. Which I have just bought.....
15. Very nice & not a bad price. Looks legit. Shame it's not a Jazzmaster, I might have bought it.
16. You are not happy because you have far too much choice.
17. If you want a hardshell case you won't find better than Hiscox cases.
18.
I very much doubt that a large proportion of the audience know or even care how the music is produced. If they did, they wouldn't be there, they'd be watching bands.
I don't think people who go & see bands are that bothered about how the music is produced either to be honest, unless they also happen to be musicians themselves. All people want to do is go out & get wasted with their mates. If people were that bothered about the music they wouldn't spend half the gig they've spent £50 to see buying overpriced beer at the bar & the other half talking to their friends & checking their f***ing phones.
19.
I don't know. Our drummer seems to be out every weekend watching some band or other in various venues. There's obviously a big market for it.
There is indeed a big market for it. Doesn't stop it being tedious beyond belief though.
20.
....Rush and Queen would never just turn up at a gig and play the record to the waiting throng!!
But that is exactly what Queen used to do when they performed Bohemian Rhapsody! When it came to the middle 'Operatic' section they all left the stage & just played the recorded version, then came back on for the rockier end section. Saw them do it in Cardiff in 1977, and it's also what they do on the 'Live Killers' live album.
21.
Well it worked for Peter Frampton ...
I guess it depends on how you define 'alive'....
22. They'd be better off making their band 'come alive' by playing something other than bloody blues rock.
23.
Also noted on the Wikipedia page that the album wound Garry Bushell up at the time so that's another plus point..
Excellent - I love it even more now.
