The LD looks good actually....
I've been using an LD MEI1000 G2 for 18 months now, and I know two others who have swapped from Shure since trying LD. The ability to have dual mono is such a good feature, as you can separate and mix your own vox/bass from the main mix, but hear everything in both ears.

Ah, thats MUCH better - they now sound considerably better than the old ones, as I'd hoped!! Thanks so much to both of you, as these seem to be a bit quirky!
Thanks for all your replies. My trouble with Markbass has been finding a music shop/store who stocks this gear. So I've been to pmt Birmingham and px my old rig for a TC Electronics 1x15 combo. Up to now I'm pleased with it, but not counting out a MB purchase in the future. Cheers
I agree, this is very frustrating, and I'd bet MSL (the distributor) would agree too! We had several people at London Bass Guitar Show telling us that they would love to try MB and would buy it, but could not find it anywhere in the shops. They had come to the show specifically hoping they could try out some of the range of combinations available.... However, the same could be applied 5 string basses (which is all I play now). So few music shops seem to stock them, but I would suggest that at least 1/3 of all the instruments at the LBGS were 5 string, though the shops will tell you "ah no, they don't really sell as well as traditional 4 string instruments.... well they certainly won't if you don't stock them you idiot!!

Thats really helpful, thank you! As per iiipopes suggestion I wired white as hot, so hopefully this will sort my problem!

I'd very much appreciate a diagram please as I wired as per iiipopes suggestion, but the output is virtually non-existent!
Hey! I'd had them recommended to me too and they seem to get good reviews but I went with the brands I could physically try out and thus these weren't on the demo list.
yup, I agree, you cannot make an expensive decision like that without being able to do a side by side comparison....

I just found his card. I don't know him, this is not an endorsement, but the guy touting Cosmic Ears (and he does the impressions) at the LBGS was called Ash at earimpressions.co.uk

replied! The B9.1ut has both an "aux in" and a headphone socket, so you can plug in your MP3 and play along to your favourite tunes through headphones as loud as you like without disturbing your housemates!! Instead of an easter egg if you would prefer I can throw in a 3.5mm cable for your delectation.....

I have never understood the 2 x 10 thing personally, nothing beats the sound of two lovely smooth, full sounding 15's!! I love MB gear - I have used it for years and have never been disappointed. I have been using my CMD151p and NY151 for a while now, and love it, BUT... I've fallen in love with the MultiAmp, so it is now for sale in the Amps and Cabs section http://basschat.co.uk/topic/257980-markbass-cmd151p-and-ny151-extension-cab/

A great value, well featured multi-effects pedal, this has mostly been used at home but for a few gigs, it comes with the original Zoom power supply, I'll even throw in an easter egg if you're quick! I have just bought myself a Markbass MultiAmp, so I have no further need for it. It can be programmed on the pedal, or you can download MIDI software, which works very well.. NOW just £60 + £5 posted within UK. If that isn't a bargain, then what is!? It looks like this:- More pics if required.

I love this rig - it is absolutely awesome. Compact, light (both cabs will easily fit in the boot and are light enough to carry both to the car in one trip), and a rich powerful sound. My perfect sound! I had absolutely no intention of changing my gear, however, I brought home a MultiAmp and a variety of cabs to try out from the London Bass Guitar Show (thanks to my good friends at MSL), and have decided it is time to upgrade (but sticking with 2 x 15's!). I bought the combo first, it is the original top loaded CMD151p with tweeter (http://markbass.it/p...etail.php?id=71), not the Jeff Berlin model, and is the older Combo Amp (no separate line out volume pot), which works beautifully on its own at 300w, but even more beautifully with the NY151 cab at 500w, which was a later addition. On its own the CMD151p is perfect for studio, session, and gigging (and it is also perfect height to sit on, and very comfy!!), and will handle small to medium gigs on its own with headroom to spare, but even if you don't need "louder", the addition of the NY151 it adds incredible depth and richness They have been well looked after, never abused ( I always DI anyway) and are both in very good condition, and the combo is complete with a Roqsolid cover with yellow piping. CMD151p £395 NY151 £300 Together £675 According to Parcel Monkey, UK shipping would be around £14 for each cabinet. Here it is:- More pics available if needed. I am in Devon, but travel widely so can possibly arrange to deliver, or I am also happy to courier at your expense....
...I'm finding the 604 so amazing I may buy another
You'll be lucky... rocking horse poo springs to mind!

Does anyone own any "Cosmic Ears"? A guy was wandering the LBGS demonstrating some 6 driver in ears, which I thought were rather good, and considerably cheaper than most at £425, plus £50 for the impressions... www.cosmicears.com

Like all my basses I used to use Elixir nanoweb mediums on the fretless - nice and growly, keep their tone for so long, and easy on the hands.
I was really pleased to hear that they are now holding MarkBass stock in the UK rather than having to wait to get everything from the European warehouse. Quite a big investment to do this but it'll really help us to get things faster in the future Anyone else try the MultiAmp at the show? I couldn't resist bringing one back to play with but haven't had a chance to even turn it on yet!
Just for info, I'm not actually employed by MSL (sadly - I wish! Thats me on the right), just help out with shows and events, but I'm certainly very passionate about the gear. Over the weekend we probably did one in three demos on the MultiAmp - it got lots of attention - and it is well worthy of it! I also took one home after the show, and I haven't even had time to un-box it yet! I did however, spend loads of time working with it over the weekend. A couple of people said "perhaps too complicated for me...". I can understand why people may think that at first sight, particularly if you, like me, tend not to use pedals. But like any new tech, it really isn't that complicated once you get some time with it. My take on it is that, using it live I will probably configure half a dozen user presets for the type of gig I am doing (a clean LM3 or Big Bang, a TTE500, a Fender-esque rig, an Ampeggy one, and maybe a Slappy one), set it how I need it for the gig and leave it like that; and its nothing short of utterly brilliant if you use in-ears and DI straight into the PA. However, if you have a pedal board, then you'll add a MIDI controller like a SoftStep (I've already got one for my X32 digital desk), and halve the number of pedals you currently have on your board (it has all the MB pedals and quite a few more), and stick them through the effects loop, which can also be switched in and out using MIDI, along with punching onboard effects in/out, controlling volume pedal, tap tempo, etc, etc.... If anyone in the west country wants to see it, I be happy to show you. I live near Honiton, and I'm up and down to Truro weekly.
One more pic: Basschatter Chris Sharman and his awesome, cake-providing other half
No-one offered me any cake... I could have done with some at about 3.45pm each day! haha!

aha, thank you so much!!
Incidentally, anyone know who this lefty gentleman with a rockstar look is? He was at the Porter & Davies stand.
Aha, you found a picture of the noisiest slapper at the show....! haha!
