1. I missed this... Its still on iPlayer until midnight tonight
2. Copies can be so different. I know a guy in bristol who will make you a new one if you can accurately trace it (including screwholes...). he did a new one for my JV precision.
3. anyone out there wanna discuss a Mk1 fretless trade for a mk2 or 3 5 string fretless. Beautiful olive ash facings, was built for me in '86, beautiful condition, pics on request?
4. doubleneck ugliness! take an ugly rick shape and make it even uglier!!
5.
I've discovered this really good trick..... I actually replace the old strings with new ones!
...nail on the head I think!
6. I also had a 300w Peavey combo which was the heaviest thing ever!
7. MarkBass CMD151, great on its own or with 104 cab sounds a dream, and one in each hand for get-in/out. I used to tour with TE AH400 with 410 and 115, needed its own truck and crew. Before that I had an old "quilted" Kustomsound head with a 2 x 15 fender cab, which was the heaviest but best sounding rig i ever had, but it eventually shook itself apart! +1 to never go back to big/heavy!
8. I'm blessed with distinctly unsuperior ears I do know that no amount of boiling will remove tarnish, rust spots or the effects of aging when strings have been used a while and boiled a few times! Sadly the gloss will fade. If you want to save a few bob then boil away, I did for years! It would be interesting to get the feedback on this topic from a manufacturer, other than the obvious " don't do it as we can sell more"
9. my two 4 strings tend to get ignored these days... dreadful as my fretless is a Wal I'd trade it for a 5 string fretless tomorrow if a. it was a good deal and b. it was another Wal! I couldn't sell either, as one is a JV 57 precision bought new in '81, first "decent" bass, the other is a Wal!
10. I'm so grateful for all your feedback. This was filmed when I was really good, but my technique has lapsed a bit since....
11. I love all his sounds... I'd love to be that technical but also such a natural player. ...its not always what you play...
12. How about a nice cloth cap, like the Rubettes.... now you're talking!
13. That was when I was at my best... sadly i got worse as I got older.... I do appreciate the criitique though!
14.
I've cleaned my strings in a dishwasher in the past. Works a treat.
top or bottom shelf?
15. yeehar
16. you can also add a bit of vinegar, supposedly helps to remove your greasy deposits... All it actually does is stink out the kitchen!
17. but they are never as bright as they were before, or for as long!
18. this is why Elixir were invented... I used to boil too, but even then didn't give as good life as Elixir
19.
I wanted to add the next Rattlin Bone gig to the calendar but cannot see the button for this anywhere? In a similar vein, are member's birthdays no longer highlighted anywhere? All help gratefully received, cheers!
Knew it used to highlight birthdays, but didn't know it had a calendar before. that'd be useful! Also, has anyone suggested a "dep needed" sub forum?
20.
For those lucky enough to have massive screens this probably isn't an issue, but I have a little laptop and have to do shedloads of scrolling to peruse the "fora". In spite of having crappy 50+yr old eyes and needing reading glasses, I find bold but smaller fonts easier to see and scan. Tighter with smaller font size would definitely be better!
....pretty please!
21.
1. Everythings a bit 'spaced out' and could be tighter... 22.
FWIW, the way I use BC means the number of sub-forums is irrelevant to me. The only time I look for a specific forum is when I'm perusing the for sale areas. Other than that, it's 'view new posts' or the search function.
I'm starting to use that way too since the new look...
23. +1!
24. I like that most are beautiful woods, but most look unbalanced and clunky, (though I accept the word of owners they are mostly not!), but I cannot help thinking that they are another fad. Nothing wrong with different, but I find other different things more aesthetically pleasing!

Line6 Customtone

I've found a section in preferences where you can associate file types in the tone locker. I have selected all three types and chosen apply and OK, but it is not saving my selections... is this just rubbishy sortware or am I doing something wrong!!
