1. Getting an east without question now... Still humming and hahing over pickups but Nordstrand seems to be the way forward... Thanks for the advice fellas really appreciated!
2. So outlay wise what am I looking to spend on a nordstrand etc?!
3. Ok I've bought a Sterling SB14 the Sterling Model. Basically I get that the electronics and hardware won't be of US standard but I was toying with the Idea of upgrading preamp and pickup (bartolini, bass lines etc) just to get the most as possible out of the bass. As it's a sterling format rather than stingray I would be seeking out recommendations to make it a real MM killer on a budget basically
4. I am curious... I know there is a difference but if someone could explain the difference that'd be magic! If then anyone could recommend any upgrades suitable for a sterling such as preamp or pickup mods that would also be mega appreciated! Thanks
5. I would say not.
Withdrawn - I appear to playing solely fretless these days so I am having dot markers put where they 'should be' on a fretless and keeping this.
6. Gosh this has got me thinking...
7. If it wasn't that I loved my Geddy Lee so much I'd be dropping you a PM.... Must resist the urge...
8. Hi all I recently bought a 15th Anniversary Ashdown ABM 500 2 x 10 combo. Stunning tone, really versatile (works well with both my Jazz and Precision) and surprisingly light! I decided to add an extension cab and bought the matching 1 x 15 but it's gonna take an age for it to arrive, however they have got the matching 2 x 10 available which looks like it's got pretty impressive spec too. Now what's confusing me is the following... The 1 x 15 gives a frequency range of 20hz to 9khz and the 2 x 10 gives a frequency range of 25hz to 20khz. Obviously I have the 2 x 10 and that has more bass than you can shake a stick at so is there any sway in preference for that extra 5hz lower? Will it make a dramatic amount of difference to the low end or will it be negligible? Also can someone explain what the difference in the SPL's will mean?! The 1x15 is 99.1dB @ 1w/1mtr and the 2x10 is 98.5dB @ 1w/1mtr. Sorry for lots of techy-ish questions. Thanks Tim
9. I believe this bass was previously mine! It's a superb bass and plays like an absolute beast, plenty of variety tonally and someone is going to get a bargain here! GLWTS Stephen.
10. Just bought a pedal from George, absolute scholar & gent! Super quick turnaround! Deal with complete confidence.
11. Such a shame the necks too thin for me because that is all shades of stunning!
12.
Tim, don't know if you are aware of the US folks in the following link, but they do a superb range of top quality decals for fretboards including fake MOP. That Bob Glaub with the Billy Sheehan fret markers, they came from Creative Cuts. Reasonably priced, excellent quality and service and even a goon like me can fit them http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/creative-cuts
Thanks for the heads up Karl!
13.
As the owner of the 5-string version of this bass, and an ash/maple P, I can only imagine that this bass must sound fantastic!
And you would be right in your assumption!
14. Please tell me the other bass you've seen is my U.S. G&L... Haha. That's stunning and the spec sounds mint. GLWTS.
15. I would bloody love this... However need to sell my G&L
16. Return to the topper most of the popper most!
17.
Ah, NOW I understand Top blokey peeps, get it bought. Bump.
You're too kind Karlos! Back to the Top!
18. Blimey Charlie! Stunning stuff!
19. All PM's replied to and back to the top!
20. My question is why don't you want G&L in this situation.... ;-) only joshing fellow lord of the low end. GLWTS!
21. Aye she's a thing of beauty.
22. Please ignore the price above as I now am looking for a straight trade for preferably a Fender Geddy Lee, 70's Reissue Jazz (MIM/MIJ) or a Jaguar Bass. This is a superb condition bass for a 20+ year old it has a few dinks (to be expected), a bit if scuffing on the top where an arm has rested but otherwise a thunderous romping little number. Please PM with W.H.Y.
