If it wasn't that I loved my Geddy Lee so much I'd be dropping you a PM.... Must resist the urge...

Hi all
I recently bought a 15th Anniversary Ashdown ABM 500 2 x 10 combo. Stunning tone, really versatile (works well with both my Jazz and Precision) and surprisingly light! I decided to add an extension cab and bought the matching 1 x 15 but it's gonna take an age for it to arrive, however they have got the matching 2 x 10 available which looks like it's got pretty impressive spec too. Now what's confusing me is the following... The 1 x 15 gives a frequency range of 20hz to 9khz and the 2 x 10 gives a frequency range of 25hz to 20khz. Obviously I have the 2 x 10 and that has more bass than you can shake a stick at so is there any sway in preference for that extra 5hz lower? Will it make a dramatic amount of difference to the low end or will it be negligible? Also can someone explain what the difference in the SPL's will mean?! The 1x15 is 99.1dB @ 1w/1mtr and the 2x10 is 98.5dB @ 1w/1mtr. Sorry for lots of techy-ish questions.
Thanks

I believe this bass was previously mine! It's a superb bass and plays like an absolute beast, plenty of variety tonally and someone is going to get a bargain here! GLWTS Stephen.

Just bought a pedal from George, absolute scholar & gent! Super quick turnaround! Deal with complete confidence.

Such a shame the necks too thin for me because that is all shades of stunning!

Tim, don't know if you are aware of the US folks in the following link, but they do a superb range of top quality decals for fretboards including fake MOP.
That Bob Glaub with the Billy Sheehan fret markers, they came from Creative Cuts. Reasonably priced, excellent quality and service and even a goon like me can fit them http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/creative-cuts

Thanks for the heads up Karl! -

As the owner of the 5-string version of this bass, and an ash/maple P, I can only imagine that this bass must sound fantastic!

And you would be right in your assumption! -
Please tell me the other bass you've seen is my U.S. G&L... Haha. That's stunning and the spec sounds mint. GLWTS.

I would bloody love this... However need to sell my G&L

Return to the topper most of the popper most!

Blimey Charlie! Stunning stuff!

All PM's replied to and back to the top!

My question is why don't you want G&L in this situation.... ;-) only joshing fellow lord of the low end. GLWTS!

Aye she's a thing of beauty.

Please ignore the price above as I now am looking for a straight trade for preferably a Fender Geddy Lee, 70's Reissue Jazz (MIM/MIJ) or a Jaguar Bass. This is a superb condition bass for a 20+ year old it has a few dinks (to be expected), a bit if scuffing on the top where an arm has rested but otherwise a thunderous romping little number. Please PM with W.H.Y.

Just bought Bob's L-1500 and the transaction was a pleasure from start to finish. Please deal with in absolute confidence.

So just let me clarify...
If I'm after a really clean sound I may be needing to look at something a little higher in wattage?!
But if I don't mind a little bit of breaking up at higher volumes then a 15w may be the way forward?! -
Having never had anything less than 30w valve before I am curious to find out if 15w valve is loud enough for serious live performance?! I know a lot of big venues will mic up so not an issue but from a smaller point of view will it stand up to a kit, bass etc?!

You have a pm on it's way
