I'm coming to the conclusion that as much as I love the feeling and sound of this beautiful Gretsch, the practical side of me now says I really need to upgrade my bass rig, as I have now stepped into the breach as bassist and singer rather than my previous guitarist and singer role. Having a Strat back in my life means that any guitar work I will be doing going forward, the Strat will be my go to guitar. So this is really a feeler, i'm not in any major rush to shift this guitar, just to see if anyone would be interested in this fabulous little minx? In the interests of clarity she's in almost mint condition there's a little bit of wear on the bridge and bridge pickup, nothing that affects playability. She comes with the Gretsch hardcase but I never received the paperwork i'm afraid. She's currently strung with 12's as I play between Eb and D tuning, however I can include a set of 11's if anyones really interested. Here's a cheeky little picture to wet appetites.... I am looking for around £1400 ono or a Gibson Les Paul (Studio/Standard/Traditional) or 335 (Straight Trade), Duesenberg + Cash adjustment if necessary or alternatively a lovely bass such as a Gretsch/Fender/Rickenbacker!

Hi Guys After a little time with myself, I part ex'd my Gibson 335 for it over on Musicradar. However, I've decided that having 2 big hollow body Gretsch's is overkill and as amazing as it is both in looks and feel, I find that my Country Club is my go to guitar every time, so I've decided to part company with the White Falcon as it's too amazing to be sat there redundant. It really is in superb condition and I've got a rook load of photos for your viewing pleasure. What I'm looking for in trades... Gibson Les Paul Standard, Fender Deluxe or Signature Stratocasters, Fender 52 Reissue Telecaster, Gretsch G6128DS Duo Jet (must have Dynasonic pickups), Gibson ES335 (Block inlay preferable) PRS's some of these will need a cash adjustment heading my way also I'm looking at anything that you think may be of interest to me :-) I'm however definitely not interested in Rickenbacker guitars, Ibanez's, Dean, ESP or anything that is too hi-gain or metal Cash price... £1500 ono Here's the pictures that were sent to me, they're much better than anything I could take so i'll use them. Absolutely cracking chorus pedal, does everything apart from clean the dishes and so many chorus options that there is something for everyone All the spec details etc can be found on the boss website http://www.bosscorp....20/details.html It's in almost perfect condition, the odd small mark on the actual pedals themselves but nothing that is horrifically noticeable. I'm looking for £80 incl. P&P for basschatters. It'll also be on t'bay but you get first dibs on it if you ask me here first :-)

Thanks for all the input guys It' just I am now the proud owner of A Gretsch G6196CA Country Club and a Gretsch G6136DS White Falcon guitars and I was just contemplating a purchase of a Gretsch Bass just to maintain a look, sound and feel but if they're not that good i'll stick with my Jazz and Rickie. Thanks once again

Hi Guys Just wondering does anyone own one/played one? What do they sound like? What do they play like? Which one is the best? Any knowledge or insight would be helpful. Tim :-)

Got a Gibson ES-335 Dot in Plain Cherry 2008 model with the thinner 60's neck I believe, been my absolute pride and joy and I do love her, she's been played regularly as has been my main guitar up until late now and with that in mind it has picked up a few marks on the way. However i've moved across to a Gretsch Country Club and I have found my perfect sound and I begrudge having my Gibson sat there doing nothing because sonically they're quite different and I just prefer the single coil sound overall. So if you're looking for an absolute mint example of a 335 this probably isn't for you. Although i would still rate her a 7.5 out of 10 for condition. Just to clarify there's a scratch on the front, it doesn't break the lacquer and it's not that noticeable in my opinion and wouldn't be glaringly obvious to any onlooker and of course there's a bit of buckle rash. Also the bridge and stoptail are a little tarnished from where I've had my hand leaning on it because I happen to be of the sweaty musician variety unfortunately, But nothing that affects the playability or setup of the guitar. For one of the more recent ones she plays exceedingly well and even more so since I had her set up professionally by Matt Bascetta Luthier. Check him out atwww.mjbluthier.co.uk and She now plays like absolute silk. I can get pictures but it's taken on an iPhone so it's not the greatest camera. I'll be more than happy to anyone coming to see it as well and running it through the Twin or Orange I have here. I'm based on the Welsh (Best) side of Chester. Really I'm only interested trades and would be looking at Gretsch (6120, Duo Jet, Penguins, White Or Black Falcons preferably with Dynasonic pickups but I am open minded especially if they've got TV jones') or Deluxe or Signature Fenders (Deluxe USA Strat, 72 Deluxe/Custom Teles, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, David Gilmour ;-)) + cash adjustment). I would be happy to hear offers around the £1300 mark for cash purchase :-) Or if you've got some wild suggestions, I'm incredibly open minded and like a magpie so something shiny, to cure my madness please drop me a line. Cheers for looking Tim Please excuse the picture quality they're taken on an iPhone, if you have any specific requests please don't hesitate to drop me a line and I'll try and get you something specific. Hi My covers band The Pocket Rockets (http://www.thepocketrockets.co.uk) are looking for a new bassist to join our ranks, as our current bassist is committed to going out on a cruise for 6 months this year and again for 6 months next year. We are based in Chester and Sandbach areas. However we play gigs in and around the whole area extending out to North Wales etc. We are preferably looking for a female, just purely for harmonies and vocal range. I've got a tenor/baritone voice so we would need someone to sing higher hence us looking for a female bassist/vocalist. Nothing sexist guys!!! We play a broad range of material from The Who, The Beatles through to Queen, Andy Williams, Fleetwood Mac, The Killers, Pulp so on and so forth. ESSENTIAL: Local and flexible (time not physically) We are looking for someone who has their own rig. Who can sing, as backing vocals and possible lead vocals on occasion are very important to us. Who is committed to a rehearsal a week and fairly regular gigging at weekends with the aim of doing more gigs long term. PREFERABLE: Own Transport. Between 21 and 30 Sociable and possess a good sense of humour. Loves to play live music. Hit me up a message on here if you're interested or alternatively drop me an email at.... . Cheers!

I wish I was a guitarist in your area and in this league of playing, but I have to say... love your Cardiacs cover!!! Is it just mud that breaks the whole world window?!
How well do you think this would handle Drop A on the bottom string? Very tempted.
It handles it very well, I know because i've tried and i nearly didn't have any internal organs left haha and that's with a reasonably light gauge (40's) on it!
