This ⬆️ I'm in a Prog band, as well as a Metal band, and the difference in rig setups is brilliant. I rehearsed with the Metal band on Sunday and ran a Darkglass M900 through an SVT810 cab. It was pure bliss. It was so loud, clear and simply awe inspiring. The reality is though, it is so impractical. Unless you have a full road crew and storage facility, these cabs are of no use to man nor beast, which is such a shame. Anyway, I totally agree with Lewis, the IEM route is the way things are going, and I will be for my Progressive band even though we have our heavy moments. If that goes well, I'll take it over to the Metal band as well. I will always crave a huge rig though, nothing like it when that air is being pushed 😎

Slight change of mind. I have decided to keep the M900 for the studio, and am therefore withdrawing it from sale. I am still selling the DG210C cabinet though. The price is £450.00 firm. These are £900.00 brand new. No trades, no offers, please. I have decided finally, to go down the In-Ear Monitoring route, for gigging. It's been on my mind for a while, and last week, I finally bought an IEM system. I thought about keeping an amp and cabinet set up as well but have decided, that it's just going to sit there, so here I am, selling my rig. I'm selling my DG210C cabinet. This has never be used live and still has the tags attached. I have used it in the house but at low levels. It has been stored in my studio and comes with a brand new Roqsolid cover, which again, I'll throw into the deal. I am very particular about looking after all my gear, and I promise you, there are no marks, scratches, scuffs etc. anywhere to be seen. They are in brand new condition. The cab has never been used live. I don't have the original box for the cab, but I do have a box, which is rather substantial as you can imagine. The cab is located in Penarth, just outside Cardiff. I would prefer collection please, and that way you can try the cab as well. If you can't collect, I will be happy to meet the buyer within a 50-mile radius of Cardiff. Any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Thanks in advance, and take care.

Marillion at St.David's Hall in Cardiff on Saturday (16th Nov) & Ghost at The Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on Sunday (17th Nov). Both utterly brilliant sets by two very different bands. Both know how to put on a show, and both contain wonderfully talented musicians. A weekend of music heaven. I will say, it is so good to see a rock band like Ghost bringing back the big stage production, and genuine entertainment factor to a large stage. The sound for both bands was out of this world, as well.

If you want to hear FISH era songs, go and see The Steve Rothery Band, live. They always cover the FISH era music, and their singer who happens to be in Marillion and Iron Maiden tribute bands, does a fine FISH impersonation. Also, as @AndyTravis mentioned, the superb, and also a good friend, Dave Foster plays 2nd guitar. They put on quite a show.

Thanks for this, appreciated.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😳😉

Hi think the SH1 is in the bag, regardless 😉

Ahhhh right. Fair enough. Cheers. I think I’ll now just have to try one for curiosities sake ☺️

Are they Indonesian production line basses? Really? I had no idea. Nothing wrong with that by the way, but £2.7k? I was always going to stick with my Vigier basses but I just fancied one of these. Interesting. Thank you ⭐️

I’m a full in Vigier guy, as well as P basses. I’m able to keep my GAS under control. I have 3 basses, that’s it. However, when I saw that Strandberg, my GAS was reignited. However, I saw the price, and the flame died down. I’ll always use my Vigier’s, I just fancied something that was a little different, just because. One day though, we’ll see 😉 It’s great to window shop, on the other hand ☺️
-
I know, but that doesn’t mean that if they had the options at the time, they wouldn’t have gone for it. I bet PM’s collection is pretty diverse now that he has the money 😉
-
What have you heard about the Strandbergs? They intrigue me. I’m a Vigier guy, through and through, but these basses really have grabbed my attention. I’ve had Dingwall basses, and didn’t fall in love, but the neck design combined with the Darkglass pre-amp in the “prog” version sound very cool. Interested to hear what you have heard. Have you played one?

Oh FFS! I now have 2 situations of real GAS which I honestly thought, had gone for good! There is Tech 21 NYC “Steve Harris” SansAmp about to be released, and there is a beautiful Strandberg Guitars Bass at Bass Direct. Please let them be rubbish, please!!! I know they’re not going to be. DOH! 😳🙄😂 xx #GAS #Strandberg #Tech21NYC #SteveHarris #WhenWillItStop

well known artists that never or hardly ever do gigs

I didn't take it that way, honestly. I agree, they are having the best time, and I agree again, a new album would be ace. I'm pretty sure that is all in hand -

I think they are doing it because they can. Got to doff my cap to the band. Amazing stamina, and drive 😎 -

Iron Maiden........ Sorry misread the topic 😲😂 -
They are very much a part of me. I play them hard but look after them really well. They get a lot of care and attention. I went through so many trying to find the "one", and like you, sold on to make way for something else that I thought, would be the one I would bond with properly. I really want a connection with my instruments. I don't want to think about what is potentially lacking when I'm in the middle of writing, recording or playing live. Once I found what I was looking for, and I have (2 of them and identical apart from colour), my GAS went and I mean, really went. I got my first keeper back in 2014 and have not looked back, hence why I got a second one. They really are my pride and joy but my workhorses, too. Treat them well, play them as they should be played, and they will give you years of loyal service and enjoyment. In my opinion of course. I will never move these on. I have found my home 😊⭐ PS I still have my first pro bass that my parents bought me in 1986. That stays in its case and is in immaculate condition still. It has been modded to the spec of Steve Harris' bass. I will never get rid of it for sentimental reasons.

My first rig was a black Marlin Slammer bass and a 25-watt MArlin bass amp. I felt like I was Steve Harris. Wonderful memories. Wish I had kept them 😊😎

Talk by a country mile, for me. Such a wonderful, uplifting album. Highly underrated, and not accepted by most Yes fans, which in my humble opinion, is such a shame.

Do you sit your bass on left or right leg when playing?
mattbass6 replied to Chrisbassboy5's topic in General Discussion
I used to play on the right leg but now, when sat down, I play on the left leg. It just makes so much more sense as the body, neck and left hand positions remain the same when standing, with a strap. It felt weird initially, but I adjusted quickly. Not sure why I didn’t do it from the beginning. -
Easy Jet. Have you taken a bass on a flight with them?
mattbass6 replied to mattbass6's topic in General Discussion
Thank you so much everyone. That was really, really helpful. I’ve decided to buy a good gig bag and an SKB Roto case with the ATA locks. Better than buying a bass I don’t want to play as a “just in case”. I’ll also phone ahead and get it checked in to the hold, at the gate as “oversized” baggage. If I’m honest, I did that with BA, but forgot about it. Thanks again, you lot are ace. Appreciated. Cheers ⭐️ -

Yeah, agree. Always do that but for some reason, I have a worry about Easy Jet abs how they handle gear. Cheers ⭐️ -

This is being booked by the promoter so, as is always the case unless you are Iron Maiden, they will be looking to save as much money as possible. Wise words though, I will have to call. I’d just like to hear any bass players experiences with Easy Jet. Cheers ⭐️ -
