Another thumb's up for Matt from me too. I've just had a Warwick gig bag off him which he posted out in scarce but the blinking of a gnat's eye after I'd sent him the money. Really nice item which was exactly as described and safely packaged for delivery. As others have said, prompt, regular and friendly communications resulted in an entirely painless and very speedy transaction. I'd be happy to deal with Matt again at any time. Mark
Thanks so much Mark and likewise, an absolute pleasure to do business with you Good luck with all you do and catch you around here again. Take care. Cheers, Matt
Pity you are so far away. This would have been ideal for my Warwick Thumb and really good price too. PS Big fan of the band - great stuff. Cheers Dave
Hi Dave, firstly, thanks so much for the extremely kind words about my band, they mean a lot Secondly, as you were so genuinely nice, how about we split the costs on getting the case delivered to you. It shouldn't be that much if I'm honest so, if you're interested, let me know and I will look into the cost of getting the case up to you. It has to go and I'm sure your Thumb bass will love it too Take care. Cheers, Matt -

Hi BC gang and I hope all is well? My name is Matthew and I am a hoarder Therefore it is time to clear out my little cubby hole and make some space. This is what I have for sale if anyone is interested - ***SOLD*** 1) - SKB Safecase. This has been used once and is awesome but I now have full flight cases so no longer need this. I paid £120.00 and looking for £65.00. You can collect and I am prepared to drive to meet in a 30 mile radius of Cardiff or it can be delivered at your cost. Photo below. ***SOLD*** ***SOLD*** 2) - Warwick Deluxe Gig Bag - This came with my Warwick Streamer LX6 and after selling that bass, it has just sat in the cupboard. My Dingwall basses came with gig bags so this is definitely excess to requirement. Not a lot to say about this apart from the fact that it is in great condition and a superb gig bag that will definitely look afetr your bass. Looking for £30.00. You can collect and I am prepared to drive to meet in a 30 mile radius of Cardiff or it can be delivered at your cost. Photo below. ***SOLD*** ***SOLD*** 3) - Warwick Flight Case - This came with my Warwick Streamer Stage 1 and the buyer of the bass didn't want this case as he already had one. I have used it for my old Yamaha TRB6 bass but when that sold, the buyer didn't need the case as he had one. Since then, it has been sat there doing nothing. In pretty good condition but it does have some sign of use but nothing is ripped or broken. Still 100% usable and extremely tough / durable. Great cases. Looking for £50.00. You can collect and I am prepared to drive to meet in a 30 mile radius of Cardiff or it can be delivered at your cost. Photos below. ***SOLD*** Hopefully here from some of you soon and if you have any questions, please feel to drop me a PM and I will get back to you ASAP. Take care. Cheers, Matt
Stu's tone has changed so much over the years, which tones of his is it that you like?
I particularly loving the tones he was getting with Satch especially Live In San Francisco. But generally, his modern day tone is just awesome. I realise he has a very versatile bass with great pick ups and of course his own feel but, does he use many effects etc. Thanks for the help
I just got rid of a Laney 40w and switched to the 30w without a problem. 15w might struggle a bit, but if it's on top of your bass rig, you'll hear it ok. The Roland is really portable and sounds good. 30w seems ideal. Got it for £99 on ebay.
Nice one. I thought the LC15 might not be man enough for the job so I will borrow a mates 40w and experiment
Here's what I do for a more practical version of this. I split my signal via a Hartke bass attack pedal. Parallel (unaffected) output goes to Hartke 350 head and warwick cab for lows and mids. Line out from the bass attack (eq'd for max treble and no bass) goes to little Roland cube 30 guitar amp (eq'd in a similar way). The secret is that although I have a 350 watt bass head, the 30w roland keeps up with it because the highs cut through so well. All I ever is adjust is the volume on each amp for balance between bass and treble.
Wow, that is brilliant. One question though, in your opinion, is there a minimum wattage for the guitar amp? I have just sold a Laney LC15. Would that have done the job? Thanks so much for your help and I am pleased to see that Hartke is appearing a lot. I love Hartke gear
Sheehan runs two outputs from his bass. From the neck position humbucker to a Hartke LH1000 into Hartke AK410. P Pickup goes through Pearce preamp powered by Hartke HA500 and into AK115. The Pearce has clean and didtorted channels. Essentially the lows can be adjusted without affecting the highs and vice versa. Conversley to popular opinion, Sheehan says he prefers the highs through the 115, which smooths them out a bit and the lows through the 410 for a fast and sharp attack.
Thank you so much for the information. A lot of that makes so much sense. It isn't until you read it that you think, "Ahh, yes, of course" More research is needed but plenty of food for thought. Thanks again
Matt, Dug Pinnick has used a few different set-ups over the years, so it depends what sort of era you're thinking of. The earlier albums he was running an SVT stack for the bass end & using Fender Twin guitar amps for the high end, splitting the frequencies from his basses (mainly a Hamer 12 string & a Fender Jazz at the time) with a crossover. This is the rig he was using when they played St. Davids Hall in 1989 (the "Gretchen goes to Nebraska" tour) & the sound was f***ing immense! Here's some info on his recent set-up: http://www.12stringbass.net/master.htm?htt...et/DougsRig.htm
Hello mate and I hope all is well with you. Thanks so much for the info. Maybe a little extreme for what I want but fascinating stuff and I am sure ideas will spring from here. Thanks. What are you up to these days? Hopefully see you around. Take care bud.

I wonder if anyone can help me please? Apart from loving these guys as bass players, I also really love their sound. Does anyone have an information on how they get their sound? I figure there is some overdrive / distortion and chorus plus I just can't figure out what else they may have in the loop. Any help and advice would be appreciated. Cheers folks
Received my Yamaha TRB6 Series I from Matt today. A gorgous instrument at a great price, and Matt was a pleasure to deal with all the way. Honest and prompt communication and friendly all the way. The bass was very well packaged and was just as Matt had described it. Even threw in a couple of freebies! So thanks for a great bass and a very pleasant and easy transaction, Matt! Maybe we'll do business again in the future, who knows? ;-) Good luck with your band and recording work! Cheers, Jon
Jon, it has been so great dealing with you. The whole transaction has been an utter pleasure and I really hope we do business again one day. Enjoy the bass bass and please keep us up to date with any gigs or recording you do with it. Thank you and take care. Cheers, Matt

Just sold my Yamaha TRB6 to Jon and the transaction has been an absolute pleasure. The communication was wonderful and friendly and he also sorted out the collection from Norway. The bank transfer was on time and hassle free. Deal with Jon with complete confidence. Thank you mate and enjoy the bass as much as I did.
Looking forward to it, Matt! I've owned one of these before, but it was beat up and had a lot of bruising, so when I was offered a good price I sold it. But have missed it.... so looking forward to getting a nicer and better looking version of it back! Nice doing business with you, Matt! Good luck with your projects! Cheers, Jon
And you too mate. I will leave you feedback tomorrow. Just to let you know, I have PM'd you with all the dimensions for transit. Speak soon and take care.
