1. THIS IS BACK UP FOR SALE OR TRADE AS THE ONE THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN UNFORTUNATELY FELL THROUGH AND NOT DUE TO ANYBODY'S FAULT. JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS. SO, HERE IT AGAIN.
2. BUMP of the day for a stunning new Bongo bass that needs a good home
3.
Biggest regret of my Basschat career...selling a Bongo HH.
I am genuinely gutted Andy but it's not doing what I need it to do. It is one of the finest basses I have ever played, seriously (plus it's a stunner) and I know I am going to regret it but I need the right bass for my gig and this isn't it I wish it was!!
4.
*drools
It is beautiful isn't it lol

6. I cannot believe this is happening to me, but I bought a beautiful Musicman Bongo 6 HH (in red) bass 3 weeks ago and totally fell in love with it. The feel, the looks and the sound but, it's not the sound that is right for my band and music. I have been playing Yamaha TRB6 basses for years but when the Bongo was launched I had to have one. I am now about to go on tour and have resorted back to my Yamaha but I don't want the Bongo sat around. I paid £1899.00 and will be looking for either - 1) A trade for a good condition Yamaha TRB6P (not a TRB6 JP) and small cash adjustment depending on the condition of the bass. or 2) A trade for a good condition Yamaha TRB6 and cash adjustment. or 3) £1450.00 straight cash deal. I am absolutely gutted about this but I know what I need and this has to go. This bass has never been used in rehearsals or live or been out of the house and is in 100% new condition with Musicman case, which is also in immaculate condition. Hopefully hear from someone soon and for it to find the right home. If you want anymore information, just get in touch and I'll help in anyway I can. Thanks. Here are some pictures.
7.
Just bought Matts' TRB6 JP. Matt's an absolute gentleman to deal with, showing exemplary patience with me as I bumbled through the UKs' internet banking system...... Ignore an opportunity to trade with this man at your peril! Many thanks my friend!
Thank you my friend and the it was an absolute pleasure dealing with you too. Honest every step of the way. The same applies, if you have a chance to deal with Grahame, do it! Take care and thanks again. Cheers, Matt

11. Good afternoon all on this rather beautiful day. Well, the time was right, so I bought a Musicman Bongo 6 which I have been after for ages. It was my birthday Saturday and as a treat to myself, I bought the Bongo. Therefore, I am now slimming down my collection to make room for this. My main live bass is my black TRB6, which I will never sell, but the Yamaha TRB6 JP (series 1) has to go. I have never played it live, it has only ever been used in my studio. I am sorry to see it go, but I need 2 basses to take out live and the TRB6 JP is just too beautiful to risk damaging in a rock and roll band. Anyway, enough of my waffle. This is in beautiful condition and has recently been set up by my guitar tech, who is simply a genius. The action is quite low but not too low and plays like an absolute angel. I have a few pictures, which I have attached here, but if you want anymore, just let me know and I'll sort it out for you. Because I'm in an extremely brilliant mood as well and happy with my new gear, I have decided to let this go for a very silly price. Are you ready? £1000 ovno. No trades please The bass is currently in a flight case and I will sell that separately for £90.00 or, you can use your own case if you want. I would prefer collection if possible for obvious reasons, but I am prepared to meet within a 100 mile radius of me (Cardiff based) or get the bass delivered by courier at the buyers expense. This is a real gem of a bass and so hard to find these days. If you want any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch and I will do all I can to help. Thanks for reading and hopefully hear from you soon. Take care. Cheers, Matt
12. Ahh, stop teasing us with such beauties I would love a Sei Bass so much. I have a TRB 6JP if you're interested. I can but wish. Good luck, a stunning bass.
13. Was this the same bass that was on e-bay recently? It is a stunner for sure. Just a few questions if you don't mind? 1) is it still for sale? 2) what is the string spacing and scale length? 3) can the Roland GK-3 pick-up and interface be taken off and if so, what damage would there be? 4) would you sell the bass without the Roland stuff and if so, at what price? (I am not interested in the Roland stuff at all). Thanks for your time and I look forward to your reply. Take care. Cheers, Matt P.S. PM Sent as well.
14. Just spoken to my mate and he is letting his, natural finish, immaculate condition, Streamer Stage I 5 string go for £1000.00 or very nearest offer. I have played the bass and it is stunning. If you are interested, let me know and I will pass on his details for you. Take care. Cheers, Matt
15.
another +1 on the Yamaha TRB 5 I had a warwick thumb 5 for a while and the string spacing was to close for me, the Yamaha was instantly playable for me. Plus they're great basses and you can get them dirt cheap!
Yeah I had a Thumb 6 and the spacing was a little tight. Yamaha is the winner for me too
16. I had a Streamer Stage 1 6 string and the neck was huge, a bit too big for me. I currently play a Yamaha TRB 6 with 18mm and it is just perfect, the Streamer I believe is 20mm. A good friend of mine is actually selling a Streamer Stage 1 5 string. Do you want me to find out more details for you? If so, PM me. Good luck and take care. Cheers, Matt
17. Thank you my friend. I would be looking at £500 for the GK 1001RB II-210 and £150 for the 410 cab. Hope that helps and please make me an offer. I want to move these on. Take care. Cheers, Matt
18. BUMP If anyone doesn't want the whole rig and wants to split it, then that is fine by me. Make me an offer. Take care. Cheers, Matt
19. Hi all and I hope you are well? I am now selling my 18 month old Gallien Krueger 1001RB II-210 combo (1000 watts of pure power) and Gallien Krueger BLX 410 cab (400watts). They are in absolutely immaculate condition and come with the respective, on-the-road protective covers, which are very hardy and durable. The reason for the sale is simple, I am looking for either a separate amp head and a single 6x10 cab. This set up is wonderful, extremely powerful and very versatile. The beauty of these separates is that for smaller gigs, the combo is easy and portable and of course for bigger gigs, the 4x10 will give you that something extra for such a show. I bought these for that very reason as, at the time, I was possibly going to be doing some cover band gigs with some mates, so to have a full 6x10 cab etc. in a pub environment was impractical for obvious reasons. Therefore, I thought if I had a very powerful combo and a separate cab then I would be covered for both the covers band - combo only and my main job where I play on bigger stages, thus the extra cab for the extra head room and spread. But the covers band fell through and I really want a separate head and 6x10 set-up. I bought both amp and cab from The Bass Merchant back in May 2008. The 1001RB II-210 cost me £859.00 and the BLX 410 cab for £249.00. The 1001RB II-210 is now no longer available in combo format, they only do the 700RB II-210 combo now. Here are the tech specs - GK 1001RBII 210 combo The Artist Series RB combos put full-featured Artist Series heads into professional combo enclosures in a variety of speaker options. All are designed for easy transport, ruggedness, compact size, tilt-back use, and to deliver the warm tone and output that leads to exceptional musical performance. The 1001RB and 700RB are bi-amp units that come with horn-loaded enclosures and are able to drive horn-loaded cabinets from the Artist Series RBH cabinets. For pro-performance in any size venue, the Artist Series combos provide the best in bass sound and are priced to rank among the best values in bass gear. If you want to come and try these, then not a problem. I am looking for - £700.00 for both the combo and cab and covers (these were £40.00 each), which is a real steal for such a monster set-up. I would also look at trading these with any high quality and similar rated amp head and 6x10 cab. If there was a cash difference, then we can look at a possible deal as well. My ideal amps would be SWR, Eden, Mesa Boogie or anything of a similar ilk. Let me know and thanks for reading. Take care and hopefully speak soon. Cheers, Matt P.S. I still have the original boxes for both items as well.
20. I could be very interested in this amp. I just have to sell my current GK 1001RBii Combo. If anyone is interested, let me know.
21.
I've played Lozbass's Sei too and it is indeed what I would describe as a very polite-sounding bass; very pure and natural-sounding. I would imagine in its current format it wouldn't be the best bass for rock (I could be wrong), but unless you want a fairly/very aggressive sound I imagine that purity could sit very well in a track. Obviously it's difficult to describe these things as everybody perceives these things differently. Bear in mind even if you weren't happy with the pickups you could maybe swap them out for something else, or change the pre (assuming it has one; if not you could add one, or if it's the Schack you could change the settings. I'm sure Martin Petersen would be able to advise). One thing I will say is that I've had 3 Seis with Barts in and they've all sounded completely different, as you would expect from the different construction. They have all also sounded completely different to my Pedulla MVP, which also had Barts. Anyone who thinks that all basses with Barts in them sound the same can't be listening very hard or has very different ears to me. My current 5 isn't what I would call polite, it's actually very growly indeed. Loz's bass sounds very different to any of the ones I've had. I'm sure Loz can add a great deal to thoughts about the sound of the bass. I would suggest if you're interested that you try first and also discuss with Lozbass and Martin Petersen, but it's certainly a beautiful instrument.
Thank you so much. I understand that with any bass, depending on woods and construction, sounds will vary but I wanted to find out the general opinion on Barts. I am looking for that attack kind of sound being in a rock band and I drive my bass through an MXR M-80 DI pedal as well for that extra bit of dirt, so to speak. The pups and pre-amp on my Yamaha are gritty if they need to be and same with the MEC's on my Warwick, so "polite" sounding pups probably wouldn't be the way for me to go. If I am going to spend £1900.00 as well and I know this is 2nd hand, I really don't want to go down the route of changing electronics etc at that stage. I know Alex and Martin, so next time I pop up to London, I will definitely drop in and try this bass out, it looks exquisite Thanks again and speak soon. Take care. Cheers, Matt
