It's the neck for me with Laklands. Just like the 5502s Just like Atelier 5 strings they are superb. I've been told the Sadowsky modern ME sound like a Ken Smith. Not sure that's true..

I remember back in 2009 ordering a Metro direct from Sadowsky in New York. The bass was a new RV5 and a bargain at £1500 shipped!!!!. How times have changed. Sounds awesome BTW.

I was wondering if anyone has experience of either of these two 5 string jazz basses.. I have played neither but I'm looking at purchasing a £1000 or sub £1000 5 string jazz bass. I'm aware the Lakland would be a used buy and the Sadowsky would be a new purchase. How are the new Sadowsky Metro Express's in regards to the neck shape, construction, pre amp etc compared to the Lakland?? ( I'm aware the Lakland is Passive). In general what are your thoughts on either.? Or any other five string Jazz basses I should consider around this price range.? I'm considering Bacchus also but that would be an import.. Thankyou for any info..

I managed after a long time of being skint to get my old Suhr Jazz bass back. There is a BC member that offered to buy this bass for me and he offered that I could pay him back which was such a lovely EPIC gesture!! It really was and it blew me away tbh. But the time wasn't right. His BC name is three and his name is Loz bless him. I don't want to bore anyone as I'm aware everyone is struggling but it's been brutal financially and we struggled to get to the next mortgage/council tax payment for a long long time. But we're now mortgage free so me got some basses a comin.!!. Debora doesn't know this yet.. 😆 Suhr Custom Classic J4 Swamp ash body. Maple neck. Suhr 2 band pre. Aguilar single coils.

His playing on this is just utterly fantastic.

Im looking at a budget 6 string and i spotted this. £479 from Thomann. If they fit I would be looking to put a Bartolini preamp and pickups in it.. Very much doubt it's an ebony fretboard. Love the body shape, it's an NT and they make a 7 string also. Has anyone played one. ? It's a BZ6000
