Did you see the bit when I mentioned "hes the most accomplished of our time" ..? now im not sure how old you are matey but you aint as old as Beethoven. Who I consider, as well as Bach two of the greatest musicians of all time. BTW Just stick with with the subject pal. xx

I dont care what the original bass line is.

For sure. But its bass. Its only distracting if it was that high in the mix. I very much doubt any bass player would want their bass that high in the mix. She is doing it to show off her chops. Sharray Reed and other great players are very busy bass players. Thats what a studio engineer is for. You can have really busy bass playing and not be intrusive to the record. -
This was a B side at the time. But was a massive record.

Do you have a favourite.? Of course hes not for every one musically. But im sure most respect him as a musician. Personally I consider him to be the greatest most accomplished musician of our times. .His piano playing is just fabulous as ive seen him playing the piano live in London. His vocal range was just incredible. His guitar playing was very vocal in his approach. And the cat could play the bass very well.. I have a 3 disc album which contains all of the B sides of his records and its pretty mind blowing that they weren't hits. These records are both B sides. Just fantastic records. imo of course.. The great thing about Prince was his shyness and his humility. The guy could play 20 plus instruments but he never ever mentioned it. I really respected him for his down to earth approach to humanity and music. But underneath he was a near genius.

Just dont over think it. If you want to play a six string play a six string if it is useful for the music you are playing. In my experience you can play chords on a 5 string. You can be lazy on a 5 string because you dont have to move around so much as on a 4 string. Personally I love a 5 string because I can start a groove on the low B. Especially a Lakland 55. You know why, because if I play an E on the B it doesn't sound stinky poo like many a Fender 5 ive played. Give me a 4 string Jazz and im also very happy. Give me a Yamaha TRB 6 JP2 im extremely happy.. You know why because I cant afford a £3000 bass.

I know Mr Browns original bass playing on this record. But her playing is just ridiculously good I would prefer hers to be on that record. just fantastic bass playing.

I just popped into Bass Direct. I played 2 Modern Vintage 4 strings. .One a 60s one a 70s.. I played a 76 Fender jazz. The Modern Vintage basses totally blew it away. Played through an EBS amp..The MV just felt tighter more responsive. The 76 was nearly 4 grand. The MV £1500. I will never ever get the vintage Fender thing. Maybe it was just that bass. But ive played others that were not good.

On a budget and want a great 5 string jazz. Sire V7 without a doubt. I picked a Sire V7 5 for £240 and it is pretty incredible. Ive played NYC Sadowsky,s that dont sound as good as my V7. 18v punch with a classic Jazz bass growl. -

Starts off great, turns into a jazz funk up tempo masterpiece. Only my opinion of course. The guitar solo is epic. The musicians on this are just on top of their game. Bluey from Incognito being one of them. Francis Hylton on bass is another. Its just......

Good score. I got a V7 5 string in ash recently. after owning some high end basses, these are way up there. The pickups sound amazing without the preamp imo through an Aguilar/Eden rig. But when you flick that switch its 18v beast mode. Set up right these are fantastic. This is my fourth V7.

The only thing i can suggest is i set up an account in mine and Dans name through my Natwest account. OR probably a better idea Dan sets up an account we all pay into. ? This may go tits up. Never done it before.

Totally unique soul singer. And that what she really was, a soul singer and she was fabulous at it, she just happened to record some rockish music. I have this DVD. She was in her 60s when she did this live performance. Incredible.!!! .. Like Marvin said she was a one off. I always think instead of getting whizzed off just watch something thats a positive. This is just....

I care not for his later life. This is just fantastic. He was 13 when he sang this. It is probably one of the greatest vocal performances ive ever heard.

We are giving Dan money to keep his Shuker. That was my idea. It will always belong to him. He has given alot to BC/YT with his contributions Mick. I could have singled out anyone. But Dan has imo contributed the most. (imo) I always watch his channel. There may be others that are struggling but I saw it on FB..

I can chip in £30. times that by 100 ish. The Dood keeps his Shuker. And a few quid for a Greggs.. When my mortgage triples I will expect the same when I want to keep my Sire btw.😆 Thats £2 each so start saving.

Any chance BC mods can step in here and set something up.?????
