1. I think this is such an amazingly well put together peice of music. The album that it comes from is also superb. I love early Police like Sycronicity 2. Really fantastic music. But Ten Summoners Tales is just one of the greatest albums. Like him or not, his music is really good. Imo http://youtu.be/pG7_gceIFL4
2. Her slap and her fingerstyle groove is just so awsome. Everything I think is great in a dynamic bassist I see in her. http://youtu.be/idtkbioKcnY
3.
OK...based on the recommendations of my fellow BCers I ordered Peace beyond Passion, Plantation Lullabies and Cookie: the Anthropological Mixtape. Andrew costing me money again....
ha ha Trust me brother. It's money well spent.
4. I really would like to play a Pino custom shop though
5. I've got to be honest. I've owned about 7 Fender Jazz basses and not one did I think, wow this is a really great instrument. The only one that came close was an MIJ 1975 RI,amazing tone but it was heavy. I had a CS 1970 Jazz bass Ltd to 50 instruments. It really did nothing for me. Wasn't made that we'll, had a gap in the neck pocket, didn't sound great. This was a £3000 instrument. Possibly way beyond that now. I really would like to play one of the new AV 74 jazz basses though. But all in all I just don't fall for Fender anymore, there is just too much of a negative. Paying over a grand for a chance it might be good and taking the pickguard off and there is a big hole in the bass and that awful routing around the pickups. .. Ta ta. I'm not a Maruszczyk fan boy because i have one, but its proof you can do it way way better and way way cheaper. I want to like Fender as a jazz bass man but they make it very difficult to want there instruments
6. From Peace Beyond Passion. It's just fantastic music imo. http://youtu.be/wZPCYLAqxiU
7. From Cookie. http://youtu.be/_zd6rarszJo
8. I was introduced to her with Plantation Lullabies which is very funky and has that Meshell sound, but Peace Beyond Passion is one of the greatest albums I've ever listed to. Her piano playing and bass work is just sublime. Her album Cookie, The Anthropological Mix Tape, is also very cool. A mix of hip hop funk and soul. She's in my sig pic photography by a really great photographer I can't remember. The thing is I kind of lost her later stuff, but like Prince changed over the years, you have to keep the faith.
9. Damn her playing is killer on Josh,s album. http://youtu.be/I9eED6Krl14
10. She is not just a great bass player. She's a profound musician. Her music and lyrics never gets old http://youtu.be/lSsyozoHxJc
11. How cool a guy is Tim Commerford. One guy I would love to have a conversation about bass etc.
12.
Once the £ hopefully regains some of its losses against the € I'll be ordering an Elwood L with standard arrangement J pickups.
Will be getting some cash soon. Would love to order an Elwood5, like mine, but with 70,s spacing, a flame maple top with maple FB, black head stock, and pearl blocks. Ok not the same spec at all. Basically my Elwood but different. Ha ha

14. Not seeing many Maruszczyk Jazz basses on this thread. ??
15. Mine did this. Then the pin that holds the grab button thing snapped and the spring flew out. Hardly Herculean. won't be getting another one
16. Do you want a noise cancelling phone or an open back that leaks sound a little.? I think by far the best I've used are the Beyer Dynamic dt990 pro open back phones. I find the 770,s close back design make the bass a bit boomy as there bass heavy anyways, great for sound cancelling in a studio, industry standard monitors since the 80,s and are pretry amazing sounding. I will probably never use another headphone other than the 990,s they are just superb. Whatever you do, don't buy Beats by DR Dre. They are over priced fashion headphones, nothing to do with studio/instrument monitoring etc. Skull candy also for me are not great.Haven't tried the Audio Techs but I've heard they are really great.
17.
If I had £3k ear marked for a bass it wouldn't be going anywhere near a Metro. Yes, we need a revote, so we can have nice cheap basses what were people thinking..!!!
me neither. My 3k would be looking to Sei or Shuker, way more bass for your money.
18. Quality components. Kept inside a room apart from gigs. Does this mean my Aguilar AG 500 is going to last a long time. I've had it for 9 years now. I do love it.
19. Surely anything electronic used now and again is going to last longer than something with day in day out usage.
20. Strings, preamp, pickups.?. I'm aware he is scooping those mid's, but the zing and tone he's getting from the higher frequencies is great. He's playing a KSD 705. Any ideas.? http://youtu.be/r5dFOGetYMg
21.
Haha I should be paying you a commission! :-p I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts but still available for the time being.
20%.? 😁only kidding.
