1.
Great song but I always think of Money Don't Matter 2 Night when I hear it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pel9PNvxTGs
Has got to be my favourite Prince record.
2. Alot of this bassline is improvised from Marq.
3. Ive heard this record so many times and loved the bassline to it. It's played by Marq (remarkable)Jefferson. Really dig his playing.it's so creative. It really makes the record imo. His playing is so great. http://youtu.be/HBG3hBBiYLk
4. Love this guys bass playing. He's an absolute monster bass/session player imo. His stuff with Groove Collective is very cool. His playing is just so precise with wonderful groove. Him and GC are just a joy to listen to. http://youtu.be/eM2FF6BaN8w His playing on Maxwell,s classic album is also fantastic. http://youtu.be/Y91V1iDmNto
5. I gotta say those black pearl blocks are a really nice touch. I didn't realise the Deluxe Fender,s came with those. Very cool Jazz.
6. Maruszczyk Elwood 5. Delano pre, Bartolini pickups. Sounds amazing through Aguilar. Amazing neck. Amazing B string. Lightweight also.
7. The master at work Live. His guitar playing is just so very cool. There is nothing quite like him and his music, and i doubt there will ever will be again.
8.
OK, so the idea behind the thread... post a youtube vid with no comments. The groove needs to speak for itself. Comments about other grooves in the topic acceptable, just not when posting a groove... Go! (PS Ignore the thread rules as they aren't comments above the groove that follows....)
always dig Frank Mcomb EBS.
9. Says it all. http://youtu.be/1MPKDRqhZ3c
10. I'm aware PSP have been posted before. I just thought this is amazing. There is no flash with Pino, (depending on your definition of flash of course)..for those who might not recognise bass from an audience ear, he's so subtle with his tone, you wouldn't even know how fantastic his bass playing is. His right hand thumb picking style on this track is really cool. .. Love the switch between time sigs, then on to the 4/4 time, we're he plays some fantastic fills. A tight a band as any...... ever... I do love Pino's understated bass playing..
11.
I use Bass, Apogee Interface, Laptop, Garageband and then I can use the Internet to practice whatever I want to. I tend to use Youtube playlists for cover band rehearsals, incredibly handy.
This. AKG cans also. Great set up and a great sound. Focusrite 24 pro on its way, so amazing sound coming.
My old Fender Jazz Bass '78, original from neck up with the exception of refret and new saddle... The original body is led heavy and literally broke my back... The new beautiful body is made by luthier Tommy Bizzotto here in Sweden. (www.bizzotto.se) The body is made of ash and "heavily chambered". The top is flamed Swedish birch. Some customisations: a nice cutout on the back of the lower horn allowing easy access to all frets. The belly cut is made more... mature for a mature player... Why mess up an original bass? Well, an original bass that is unplayed is no good to anyone. Due to its weight (8,5 kg!!!&!) it was retired. Then I met Maestro Bizzotto who promised to make a miracle. The bass is still on the heavier side, but now completely managable. What about the tone, then? Of course it changed, but a silent bass that never is allowed to sing its heart out has no sound at all. Now the tone is a bit more P-bass-ish but still with the bite associated to the late 70's Jazz basses. I've owned this bass since '82 and now it is in my fleet again...
That is just awsome Wow.!
13. I have the same bass but with maple fingerboard and blocks. Also put in some Bartolini,s. It is superb. Easily keep up with most super jazz basses. I would say on par with Sadowsky Metro, but has a nicer neck imo. The B on mine is also superb.
14. I had a VJ with the same quilted maple top but cherry red and fretted. To my ears the Bartolini,s are way nicer than EMG, it's a sharp defined tone anyways with that neck , for me the EMG,s are too much. The barts smooth it out a little.

17.
I have an app called Loopz on my phone. Pretty limited but handy for jamming.
it's limited but great. The drum beat "pushing it" is great.
18. I work at Oxfam on a saturday with a great friend of mine and this came in. No idea what it is other than a wah wah. Anyone seem this make. It says CB Rockson. It's built like a tank. It was free as this oxfam dont take electrics. Any ideas.?
19.
Yeah, I agree... I don't need top markers at all, and the side markers are not a *must*, but they do come handy at times so having something you can see is handy. Years ago I had a Warwick Corvette, very dark neck and tiny markers and I did couple of gigs with very distracting lights... so I bought some glow in the dark paint and powder, and mixed both to make a thick paste and added small blobs on the side markers. It served two purposes: it would glow brightly if there was any UV light on stage (or if I charged them with a tiny uv torch) but even without glowing the 'bumps' were very handy landmarks. Not the prettiest solution but it worked... and could be removed easily too without marks.
I'm not sure I could do without them Jose. Only maybe before the twelfth fret. Never look at the top markers. I do wish my Elwood had pearl blocks mind
20. Sometimes I just want to jam. But alot of musicians don't actually know, either how to or dont know the language of music. It really suffocates music when people don't understand even the basics.
