1. i very rarely criticise, and its all subjective of course. but this guys drumming is my worst nightmare. Too much ego, way too many fills. he's not playing for the music and really looses the groove., and in my opinion his want to showcase himself, has totally lost the point of the record.. he starts off great but its goes down hill.i cringe every time he puts another drum fill in there. 2. Chris Coleman in my ears is such a fantastic drummer. very clever drumming.
3. He's such a great natural/musical bass player. always love to hear him play.
4. Great drummer Pete is, lifts the spirit this music does……his love of Tower of Power is evident.

11. Really so sorry to see this master has gone. really loved his playing. This is him and Bobby Womack. He played bass on this record also i believe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EZVykSFs08
12. I'm very surprised there is so little interest in this bass.!!?? These Walnut coloured Jazzers are great.
13. its a 62 RI. great basses. stick a J Retro in it and its smokin. the non export CIJ/MIJ models had basswood bodies, while the non export models were alder/ash. both great woods, but with higher quality pickups etc on the non export models. i reckon £400 around about. Depends on where your selling.
14. Yep me too Floyd. he has a good ear the man. .
15. As always Bluey comes out with a cracker.! no wonder I've loved his music for so long. awesome sentimental stuff from the front man.
16.
yep that's what I've always done and I'm amazed at the number of players who don't do that and they leave loads of windings on the peg too.
leave windings on your pegs.! WTF. snips those off now. can't stand it
17.
I use flats for everything now. Not only do they last a long time, with modern flats it's possible to get a very wide range of tones.
with all respect, its still a flat wound tone no matter how many flat wound tones you can get from it.. i don't want to be rude to any flat wound players out there, but the voicing of a bass seems to be canceled out by flat wound strings. maybe I'm missing something. yes i probably am. i tried a set of La Bella flats on a jazz bass i used to own, and i just didn't see/hear the point.. sucked the life out of the instrument. a subjective point of course.
18. put the strings on, and stretch/pull them. it pulls the windings to there optimum capacity.thus pre-empting there natural stretch and going out of tune over time. its a must when putting on new strings for me. tune up, then pull on a string then check your tuning.
