My current and only (decent) amp I've ever owned Aguilar 500 with a 212. as soon as i heard it i loved it. it just sounds so good with a Lakland 55-02 and most basses I've owned. This amp was actually run over 3 years ago by a car.literally ran all the way over it, it totally trashed the bag, (and yes it was just a bag) but the amp, bar a few scratches, has been working perfectly ever since. incredible.!!. i can part with basses, but i would never ever part with my Aguilar.

its just not as easy to listen to as Brown Sugar and not as Hip Hop like Voodoo., but man is it as good. the music is so interesting from song to song, but it is a slow burner. i was waiting to see what he did next for a long time. well it was 14 years. , it didn't hit me at first, just a few listens and there it is. not every song blows me away, but albums like that are rare. this record is just superb. there is so much going on. his voice and piano playing. he's one of the greats imo,. and Pinos playing is just super cool. Wow, some of the best funk I've ever heard. Rod and Johnnie Wilder were a funk force. you can really hear Rod Temperton's influence on this record, with the strings and general musicality. he just seems to add that something to a record. i guess thats why Thriller sounds so good. its what i call (in my musical vocabulary) classy sh*t. Dimarzio Ultra Jazz, Sadowsky Single coils, lindy Fralins.? they will all sound great depending on your budget.? Wizards are great too. a lot cheaper also. your budget is the question. i like Nordstrand single coils.

This is a specific song that at first i couldn't work out why with my timing, where i was going wrong.. but having listened to it properly, i think the bassist by accident or meant to do it, is playing behind the beat then playing on the beat. but loosing his way. its in 4/4 time obviously. then at 1.35 the solo starts.. if you count 1234 all the way until the singing starts, its just off., i know him and he's my predecessor, but i just can't quite work out what he's doing. i get the feeling that he's in a solo and lost time slightly and the singer is just waiting for the bass line. ? what do you think.? not knocking his playing was just interested to hear what others think. its at 1.35. like i said count the 4 bar beat until he starts singing. [/quote] to be honest, and with respect this makes no sense to me. the more you make of something the more detail and quality gets lost. making an instrument 1000000 times, is bound to have consequences on quality with a huge manufacturing process like Fender has.. can they keep a track of every machine, jig, employee that is making there instruments.? Martin Peterson of Sei on the other hand, has total control over what he makes. just an extreme example.
