2. Don't know if anyone knows this band. not sure if its Julian Crampton still on bass. Fantastic instrumental soul funk. Saw them live at the Jazz Cafe and they were very good.
  3. This is a bargain for one of these, with the East pre also. really nice example Pete.
  4. just wow. gotta love this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cPJxtWDGZI

  7.
I spent yesterday afternoon with Bluey and Francis Hylton and got an AMAZING interview for the magazine! Francis was sounding great with his Atelier Z bass and PJB rig, and Bluey talked about working with all of the different bass players that have been in Incognito - Julian Crampton, Randy Hope Taylor, Francis, Paul 'Tubbs' Williams.. he has even worked with Marcus Miller and Andrew Gouche. I can't want to get the interview out there.. ;-)
when is this available>?
  8. One half of Masters at Work. definitely the more soulful side of house.
  9.
Quality, cheers for that. Could I present this one to you, nice playing in this mix.
Yep, you certainly can. that is killer. !! my sister will love that.
  10. Yeah they are so good. its the sort of house when they first came out back in the day, i thought. wow. just what i like. well i will take it from you Kenny. I'm not sure. going off my own topic here. but im so digging a guy called Shuya Okino Kenny.. no fancy bass on this particular record, apart from the walking bassline at 5.23 is really great. love her voice. 11.
Pretty sure this is Gene Perez. The quintessential 90's House Tune. I think this is my favourite track from back in the day. Wonderful memories.
i love that record Kenny. its one of the classic Master's at Work record's. i so love India the vocalist. Nuyorican soul is great with all these artists apart from Louis or Gene. im not really sure if thats Gene Perez to be honest. thankyou for the compliment Kenny.you have also.
  12. Fender P and J necks are interchangeable .the upper neck width has always been the same as far as I'm aware. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that Fender have a template for every bass they make, manufactured in any country, under license of course. (apart from basses like the 24 fret or other variations) but the standards I'm pretty sure are all the same. they are mass production after all. of course some might be a tighter, or a looser fit than others. but thats Fender.
  13.
Loud amp, comfy bass, no one cares in the audience.
imo it depends on your audience. even if they don't care, hearing a great tone to inspire you, is at least half as important. if i don't like the sound I'm producing, it really doesn't inspire me to play well.
  14.
Very nice. Thanks for the kind reply. Only one g in dig, BTW. Bit of dumb spelling. Mods - please delete this thread if this is the line it is taking - thanks.
classy comeback. i think MIM have had built quite a good rep since the Roadworn. maybe its becoming cheaper to make there sig models in Mexico. I loved the 70's RI MIM jazz bass i played.
  15. i love this sort of house music. Louis Bennedetti, Selan and Gene Perez. its house music but played with live instruments, bar the drum parts. i have always loved Gene Perez's playing. he is always on the groove, but plays the most amazing subtle fills, but never over plays. its always just right. just one of the unknown masters of groove playing imo. one of the songs i think has so much groove. Gene Perez's bass playing on this is just so so good. what i love about his playing is its just honest. there is no flash, just groove.
  16. WOW.! you VERY rarely see these Fender's come up for sale. I've never actually seen one for sale. Beautiful..
  17.
http://celinderbass.com/
i could be wrong, but he doesn't make instruments anymore.?
  18.
Quite taken by contoured jazz style shapes like these
erm didn't you just say you wanted to move away from a jazz bass style.? Sei everyday of the week for me. but as always with a custom you really need to know what you want.

  20.
We all do that sort of stuff over tracks when goofing around, ...I just wouldn't post it.
Would love to hear your playing when your goofing around dude.
  21. Uncle P is spot on. and i think you lot are being picky. . know ones saying that this would work in the context of the song to be released as a record. this is just a guy playing along to a record and should be seen as such. but his playing is very exciting imo. yes its experimental, and yes he's having fun. but that doesn't stop it being some great playing. i love hearing guys like this playing a bass part to there own. especially one as good as Mr Kabas. he's a great bass player with huge groove. really can't see the problem with anything I'm hearing. but as always, the word subjective is a must.

    SOLD

That Tobias is sick.!! have a bump.
  23. I've been cleaning the house and its been a joy, because this is playing. by the way the bass playing is either Richard Bull on the keys, or Francis on the stringed thing. . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44x7Le_sI-Y
