2. no matter the music genre, there are good and bad music vids, live or other. some taken by a crap phone camera, or by pro cameras and sound equipment. anyways this has got be a favourite of mine. Raphael Saddiq is great, and the singer at 7.45 is off the wall good. its only from my own musical perspective of course, but i like to post music that i reckon is great, and if I'm going post my sh*t i want it to be in the best possible quality.!!!! anyways. here is some great stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDsHJW5E1zk whats your favourite quality music vid.
3. Pino Palladino. no doubt. a huge amount of knowledge does that man hold.
4. i know many have seen this vid but i was watching the DVD this evening with a friend.. I'm sure it would be great for those who haven't. i have every album Maceo has ever recorded, but i still watch this and think WOW. just epic funk from a master, of a grand master. Jerry Preston's bass playing is just sublime laid back cool. watcha say, GOOD GOD.! HORNS.! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABLwmYI09Lw
5. im not one for telling anyone to give up Bass. but i will say if there is no interest in music, its going to be harder. keep going though, find a teacher. a band. things may change.
6.
Donny Hathaway - absolutely fantastic singer and a great keys player too. His daughter is one of the vocal coaches and sings backing on American Idol. They had a guy doing 'Song for you' about 5 years ago, and he made a pretty good fist of it : didn't win of course, far too able an not bubblegum enough, but worth watching : http://m.youtube.com...h?v=cxabseOoVQQ
i don't mean to be rude but I'm going to be. i would rather stick a screw driver in my eye than be subjected to that. call me a snob, but i will never recognise stupid TV programs to be anything close to the music that i feel should be projected. nothing to do with my taste. even if it was my taste it would be better than the drivel that commercial tv has got to offer. . prob sounds over the top. but i do hate these terrible programs. they have nothing to do with music. rant over.
7. dont do Nija thing Dingus. tell me what you really think.

18. all i can say is, i want her bass. old vid but what a musician. ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG-kMf2uhQ0
19. i stumbled across this vid yesterday. I had he pleasure of seeing these guys/girls at the NEC many years ago, and they really were incredible. the bass player was off the wall. but what was really incredible was Charlie Wilson's voice. i don't know if anyone has seen this band live but i sh*t you not Charlies's voice is just something else. i thought Anita Baker was good live. just reminded me of seeing/hearing him. i remember his voice was so powerful, proper gospel power.. this sort of music keeps a smile on my face. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNbvXwjB6ts
20. an unattractive bass, with the usual unattractive Warwick price tag. would love to play a Streamer to see what all the fuss is about.
21.
Leaves more women for the rest of us I suppose.
well apart from my wife.
22.
!!! The Nightfly is a masterpiece! Vibrancy and Spark? Listen to 'Walk between the Raindrops'! Anywho, here he is speaking about another classic:
Walking Between the RainDrops is a real favourite of mine. what a great vid. amazing to watch a magician of music, dissect how he created such a masterpiece of a record chord by chord. he does find something different and interesting in every chord
23. from what i have heard, its a growing concept depending on how popular it will become.
24. whenever i hear someone say, they do it for the sound, sorry (TMIT), or its a slap fest, apart from other amazing bassists, i think of Mr Kabas. imo some of the most musical slap playing. well that I've heard . it can be done so well, i actually forget he's slapping. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOJzRxlBRhI
