1. Try the Seymor Duncan antiquities or Wizard 74's. a lot cheaper than others
 2.
Have you read his book?
no but i wanna.
 3.
'Nard & Nile were a class act alright; in fact Nile is reason I've started playing guitar seriously. In my foolishness I have formed a Disco band just so I can play guitar with lots of Chic stuff......little did I realise how tricky it is to play many of Nile's parts. Many of my mates have said.....'you're mad to try and start playing guitar in a Disco band as first six-string role; try some punk or rock first'......it's taken some time to get the parts licked; but worth every frustrating & rewarding moment.
good on you Bassnut. i love the thought of music inspiring people. i think your mates are/were wrong. Nile Rodger's is one of the greats. a great interview with the master can be seen here. i get so much from what he says. i like him because he's a great thinker. 4.
Nicet Live Concert from the Java Jazz Festival last year. At 29:30 the Bass player shares melody duties with the Sax player, very nicely played as well. 6. the groove of Chic are my bread and butter. but when i hear music like this, it just blows me away. my sister was playing it this morning and his guitar playing never gets boring. i just think his playing is something very special. 7. a great band that I've been really getting into lately. always was aware of them but never really listened. i just think the musicians are fabulous. fusion funk that absolutely smokes. there was no alcohol used or abused in the posting of this record.
 8. Walter Becker at his best. imo.. from the album 11 track's of Whack haven't heard this in a while. this is just…!!. the lyrics are just great. much better live version, from the Alive in America album.
 9.
You'll all laugh but, Moon river (due to the Galaxy advert) What a perfect example of perfect songwriting. Of course, it's of a bygone era but if you look past that, in my opinion, there is nothing you could do to improve this song.
i like that record too. i can't remember the last time i laughed at someones choice in music.and i doubt most people who dig music would. what you like, is what you like. i think this is great, heard it on radio 2 the other day. brings back memories. 16.
yep, waaaaaaay too intense. You put stuff up and then seem to get upset if people don't fully subscribe. I wouldn't myeself want you to stop posting the links, but It's banter... no one has to agree with everybody to get along... lighten up...
im not sure what you mean "i post like and i get upset if they don't fully subscribe".? ok i was intense, I'm sorry for my intensity.
 17. i have fluff everywhere Paul, but thats my sh*t day. in the dog house with a bottle of Corona. anyway, what about the lovely music thats playing in the waiting area.?
 18.
RF's Talk To Your Daughter pretty much has The Yellowjackets on it for many of the tracks and Roscoe Beck playing bass on other tracks; a bit more bluesey and less fusion-like but still a great album, Help The Poor is awesome
wowzer. that is great stuff. Thanks Ezbass. really enjoyed that..
 19. I'm such a serious over the top muso, and I'm sure i sound like an uptight person.. its not just me its an internet forum . i think Steve has taken years out of his life to do what he does. i think he deserves it and more. whats up with the nail varnish comments.?? i couldn't give a sh*t if he had 6 fingers. Give the guy some respect, and walk out into a world were people are different to each other.
 20. got it Roland, but thank you. who doesn't want to hear this music twice.?
 21. just an excuse to post this genius. that is all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HV3zWSawJiw
 22.
A great band - my personal favourite... (an oldie but a goodie! ) Robben Ford's guitar seals the deal for me.
his bass playing is so cool. Robben's playing is just amazing.
 23. you have just posted a very favourite band of mine LowDown. especially the Live In Reykjavik vid. Johann Asmundsson is possibly one of the best bass players alive. in my opinion. always been in awe of his playing. he's so funky but he plays the most complex stuff. . since i bought Monkey Fields many years ago I've loved this band. when the drummer plays the bass with his sticks, and Johann frets a note or two, just a very cool. you don't see this very often. these guys are just so talented in my opinion. super tight stuff from some real masters. notice a certain percussionist from Incognito.
 24. well i will wait for Dingus to say, until then i must of missed that.
