4. I'm with HandWired, although the guys on here are very experienced with bass playing and I'm sure some might have experienced your type of symptoms, they/we are not doctors. if your worried about it, your doctor is the person you should be talking to. no doubt.! soreness can be part of playing for long periods. like having sore fingers after playing. pain imo, isn't good, its your body's way of telling you what your doing is too much. better to seek professional medical advise in my opinion. I'm pretty sure everyone else will say the same.
5. great Jackson 5 record. any ideas who played bass on it.?
6. its different, i will give you that, but you did ask.
7. live at.?? with Mr Crampton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OywB38qDm0A
8. Fantastic pianist from the UK. really love this music. some great bass playing from Julian Crampton
9. How cool is THAT.!!!! you don't see many of these older Sadowsky's around.
10. the trouble with a very low action is, it doesn't give you much scope for different dynamics in your playing. starts to choke the notes when played hard.
11. i might have posted this before, but for those who may not have heard this music. Angela J, with the amazing keys/vocals of Frank Mcombe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbMPklMGHjo
12. this is a bit 'out there' but i think you can link a lot of the physical feel of the dancers, to the way you play the bass. yep i really think so. no i don't smoke weed. I'm possibly indoctrinated.
13. My sister sent me this link. i really dig this vid and there are so many like this. i dig the music, but what i really dig are the different styles of dancers. absolutely think it was of the times when everyone had there style and were really enjoying themselves dancing.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFODu0AG194
14. i really don't see the point in getting a vintage Fender J bass when there are Fenders like this around. ok its at the top of your price range, but i reckon you may take less of a gamble quality and weight wise. if not this. a Sadowsky UV4 is a tp draw choice
15.
Good call! It's a pity it didn't work out with Nicole Russo on vocals though.
i dug her but its always been Ndea for me.
16. really can't see who this sort of instrument is aimed at.? £12000.00 for a very uniquely designed bass, that was inspired by a very uniquely flamboyant bassist. the only people i can see who would buy it, are collectors. maybe I'm wrong. I can get why Warwick price there stuff so high though. If Fodera can get away with it. i gotta say though the custom shop stuff Warwick are coming out with, are frickin amazing. very clever creative stuff. some of the Streamers are just incredibly cool. http://www.warwick.de/en/Warwick---Custom-Shop--Gallery.html
17. your right Iconic! would be interesting to know if the 50's P Basses had a gloss maple neck.? if not maybe they learned to gloss them, from those basses.? I've got to be honest I'm not a fan of lacquered necks, so i tend to fine sand mine as i did with my jazz. fret board no problem.
18.
i thought thats why leo started doing rosewood fretboards....again i could be wrong?
didn't Leo start off with Rosewood fretboards, on the 60's basses.? then found Maple in the 70's as a cheaper/alternative.
19. There is a specific reason why maple necks (traditionally) are laquered, and it an aesthetic reason. originally Fender recognised that maple picks up alot of dirt, so can look dirty very quickly. so they started glossing the necks for this reason. correct me if I'm wrong of course.
20. i find it difficult to understand getting an uncomfortable hand while playing any neck, unless its maybe an 8 string monster. is it cramp maybe from a tighter hand position.?
21. Yeah for sure Kiwi, love the SBB. And i also dig Gene Perez, his playing on Louis Bennedetti's bottoms up is very good.
22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkEpNJPPsLA
23. i was listening to Incognito's 100 and Rising this evening and this track came up, i hadn't heard for quite a while. his playing on this is fantastic. ok everything is well played. but ive always dug his general groove playing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlNQyNv3R6o hes played on so many stuff, even this. his groove playing is fantastic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTK1ix86u9o
24. Good call Colonel36.. this is killer. as is his mouth organ playing. ok everything.
