  1. You all know who she is. I could be wrong but I think that is Chris Ballin from Incognito on backing vocals..
  2. Ah ok I didn't know this. I watched an interview with James saying him and Gilles founded Acid Jazz records. I'll try and find it.
  3. No it's not at all buddy. It's about the genre. I personally think Incognito are a different genre all of their own though. But I adore Incognito and Blueys music. Especially Beneath the Surface.
  4. Founded by Gilles Peterson and James Taylor the record label became a genre. I have always loved it.. please share your favorites. I should add there are lots of Acid Jazz that are not the Acid Jazz label but are still Acid Jazz/modern Jazz Funk. This album is a classic from James imo... Andrew Mckinney on bass.
  5. I've always loved these 6 string Celinders. .
  6. You just know this instrument is going to sound epic. Marcus Miller tribute. No idea how many he made.
  7. Crikey. Some really shockingly distasteful stuff there. Basically you havent found anything. Suprise suprise..
  8. A USA Mtd. Ive picked one up ( just the feel and weight of the bass was epic) but not yet played one through an amp
  9. Can you point out my distasteful history of rants on BC Supernaut.?
  10. There is no Jazz bass quite like a Modulus. Ive had two and the harmonics ring like no wooden necked bass. You never have to touch the truss rod. The Barts are just fab on a Modulus.
  11. A true innovator on bass, piano and arranging her music.
  12. If we sre still here this will stay for a thousand years.
  13. I think after 15+ years on BC i have earned the right to say sorry mate..
  14. Ive tried to send Fretmeister a message but it wont send. That was not acceptable at all. I apologise to Fretmeister for that. Im under a bit of financial pressure and it came out on BC. Again im really sorry matey.
  15. I apologise for that, but watch your mouth with me pal.
  16. Mate im not jealous. Far from it. I litteraly dont want to play like him at all. Im a bass player for music that is really special. I aim to be a Freddie Washington not a Charles.. cant remember his last name.
  17. I think generally music has nose dived. Why.? Because its too easy to do..There are no greats any more. Im 45 and i cant count on 5 fingers how many pioneers there are on the world music scene today. Its either underground greats or Taylor Swift. I remember when Madonna came out with some forever lasting pop records. Prince, George Micheal etc etc. Name one musical genius now that is in the charts. People dont want to put in the effort to learn the actual hard work of learning the theory of music any more. Sound like an old git dont i. 😆
  18. Stunt Pilot. Brilliant!!!!
  19. The problem with that is, he is a musician. The guy knows his shiz. The market maybe is the problem. Hes not Hadrien Feraud good but i would like to hear his playing in a musical context.
  20. If i ever have to witness this guy with his super talented guitar mates on Tiktok again im going to throw my phone in the bin. Its turning bass playing into a form of Mcdonalds. All 3 of them taking turns doing some incredible solo that just blows your mind. Super fast, super clinical. Super bad taste imo... Look how incredible we are. But in the end there is no musical meat on the bone. Dont get me wrong hes a beast on the instrument but his playing and his platform after a while just bores me and my sister. . l have yet to see the guy play bass in a band.
  21. BTW put some DR High Beams on her. She comes alive with those strings.
  22. I probably have 400 pics of this Bass. I bought it from Molan. I think in 2010. I absolutely loved it for many years. Played it on many gigs in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire. Personally at that time i thought it lacked some punch. I spoke with Martin Peterson about this bass and he said it was never meant to be a typical sounding jazz bass. He designed it sonically as a smooth sounding jazz bass thus the passive bass and the original Bartolini single coil pickups. The woods just dont do a 70s or 60s jazz bass.. Regrettably i sold it to Steve Mills who is a dep for Ed Poole who plays for Bonnie Tyler atm... Then years later i was able to get it back. (Steve is selling that white Sei 5 string on BC ) I drove to Reading to see Steve and got it back. I utterly love that bass to be honest. There is a reason i owned it twice. Its so comfortable, the neck is just superb. And the way Martin cut away the body/ neck is just.... And it sounds not like a Jazz bass. Thats the great thing about it.. Maybe one day i may get her back.😁 Anyway enjoy the Sei bro. It aint no bike. That bass is a fantastic instrument.
