loved this vid for a long time.. great live stuff.. you would never know he was deeply troubled at this time in his life... never the less amazing stuff..
one of the best unknown bass players alive today.. Pino P is a huge fan of Gene Perez. s playing.... he plays that jazz bass like no other .. groove central
was just browsing through a friends soul funk albums and happened to listen to the whole of this classic track.. Wonderful bass playing throughout, but the bass solo at 5.00 onwards is very melodic and an all round gem... i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVj4maM2Nuw&feature=related
that pickup is in the 60's position.. you can tell by its position with the tone knob... 70's position is in line with it, 60's is slighty further forward..
i beg to differ.... this thread about a natural growl from a stock instrument.... i doubt you could get a proper growl from a P bass with any natural eq setting... through effects yes...
i think i posted this before but someone just reminded me of this PSP track... Pino's playing is pretty amazing.. some of his fills are just amazing...... when its breaks into 4/4 time, there is some of the best bass playing i ever heard for sure..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeLmVWzRiY0
can you suggest some of the best octave pedals,, features, tracking etc... ive been looking at the MXR 288.. i dont have much experience with effects etc so would appreciate any thoughts
cheers
