1. sorry to go off on a tangent Pete, but i dig Tom Barneys playing on this bad boy... this guy can groove for sure.. and that FAT SR5 tone....
2. you wont be able to tell the diffference.... trust me.... if you do decide on an upgraded bridge, keep in mind that the bridge (by its thicker bass plate) will take the strings higher... on a jazz bass you can bottom out the saddles.. i once thought about a bridge upgrade but realised the difference is very minimal... your money would be better spent on great strings, or pickups... imo... put some Lindy Fralin's in your P Bass, and hear it sing...
3. i really dont get this fashionable bass thing... surely its the player, not the bass
4. this belonged to me also... totally awsome bass... looks as flawless as when i owned it.... this is the SR5 to have imo...
5. Didnt Dan Lakin, one of the co owners sell the company or his share of the company a while back..? Lakland are/were the best in the business for quality... i used to have a 55-01 Deluxe and it was fantastic build quality
6. Has anyone noticed the neck pickup placement... thats why the pickupup cover looks unusual.... well to me anyways.... any particular reason why the neck j pup is further towards the neck..?

10. how would you compare Sadowsky single coils to other pups DiMarzio's of Lindys Chris.. are they and aggressive pickup?
11. PM'd dude...
12. Lindy Fralins are awsome... didnt really like Lollars.. lovely pickup but a bit smooth for my taste... Fender Vintage USA pups are also very good....
13. yep hes good.. look past the slap... this dude can play.. whats next...
14. i know my jazz basses and i know you will be hard pressed to find a jazz bass that has the action of a VJ4.... presuming its a full graphite... no other wooden neck bass will come close...
15. Thought a few round here might appreciate this band... my sister put me on to these guys... .just amazing bass playing.. 17. i remember this bass at the Austin bass traders.... very rare and very cool...
18. i remember a jam i went to once.. the guitarist had a pedal board the size of a kitchen table, and a new PRS. he went on to, not inspire me with his blues jazz noodling... his name was EGO and it was his night..!!
19. Prince is the master, and this is smokin ...
20. arent alot of Mcartneys recorded lines played on a jazz bass.. ? im not really keen on Rics.. i might be shot for saying this but the one i played seem to be more style over substance..
21. yep they dont come up very often.... shame you cant see the great flamed maple in these pics
22. this prob isnt that weird or unusual, but its still ground breaking music imo.. i think Nitin comes under the title of World Music.... some of his stuff is really superb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dHY1bh79oQ&feature=related
23. i actually think if the internet didnt exist there would be ever more GAS... the lack of info a pics etc would just add to the mystery of basses/amps that people want... we just wouldnt collectively al be able to l acknowledge it
