9.
You find me another American Vintage '75 Reissue in Sunburst then pal In the process of replying to further PMs...
Hes right... i know my jazz basses and i havent seen a USA 75 ri in sunburst for a long time...
 10. i mean not to offend with any of the following, as i would play pretty much anything if it came down to it... 1. Ricks.. Not a very pleasant shape, not a very pleasant tone.. 2. Single cuts... why? for the life of me i cant think of the reason of a single cut design..... my neck is stable enough thanks 3. Headless basses or basses that have multiple LED lights in the neck., with an ultra modern tone...OMG ,, where do i start on how bad that is... you need to give up the glory days of Mark King... step away from your Status and take that plaster off your thumb.. 4. Gibson SG Gibson thunderbird,, great tone, just not my thing shape wise 6. Fodera's... where do i start.. I hate to say it as they are awsome basses, but Fodera seem to have carved out this image through marketing that there basses are better than anything else on the market, and there prices reflect this.... utter nonsense...Martin Peterson at Sei can make a bass that could match any Fodera and so can STR, Sadowsky, etc.... but Fodera decide they will charge twice as much a everyone else..? i personally would feel like a self important moron playing a Fodera on stage 7.Buckeyed burl.. see 6. awful looking wood
 11. not sure which Chaka albums but try some of Chaka Khans live stuff... check him out out on these two classic Chaka tracks.. awsome playing.. imo hes one of the best gospel bassists alive.. his playing ALWAYS has me interested.. this is THE man to listen to if you wanna nick some licks and fills....
 12. ? grow out of what... some of his playing is very musical... why cant he turn out to be an even better player than he is now, or is that too much to bear.. what a negative response to a talent... everytime this lad gets put up there always seems to be an underlying sense of jealousy.... the guy can play and hes young....so what??? stupid thread..
 13.
I have, hence the inclusion of the word 'generally'. So if it's OK to have a laugh about someone's lack of talent, how many pages should we limit it to?
ok... what i should have said is, its not ok to poke fun at other's lack of talent.. your nit picking of my post is immature for such a well respected bass player /BC member
 14.
Any band with 'groove' or 'funk' in its name is generally destined to fail.
you maybe have never heard of groove collective or the funk brothers then... ive only skimmed this thread.. but ive pretty much seen enough... shame on you guys.. its ok to have a laugh about someones lack of talent, but three pages of negativity is just nonsense imo..
 15.
Don't do it, SynthChat is crap.
ha ha ha ha.. oh how i did laugh...

 17. ive been really happy with the passive tone from my 75 jazz ri, but after watching this vid, i have the gas for that super jazz tone again.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32j6CI5S0Oo
 18. just thought i would share this fascinating non visual documentary about James Jamerson.... Pina Palladino, Paul Mcartney, Gerald Veasley, Dennis Coffey are among the people speaking about him..... and playing his bass lines.... yes hes reading from a script and the music sounds like some from garage band but Pinos bass lines are awsome ....Pino is part 5 the first part Jamerson is cooking up some serious walking bass and jazz lines Will Lee and Willie Weeks are speaking and playing too... jeeez... this is candy for a bass players ears..!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcaDXnhrkkU
 19. this is such an amazing version of this track....
 20. ive been researching this guy for a while now... his playing is just off the wall on this track imo.... he dances around that fret board for sure and all his notes are killer... he NEVER puts a foot wrong ever.... before Jaco there was the master.. imo.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imsB543zqSM
 21.
I had an Epifani, but I sold it a while back. I'll get my coat then and leave with the epi-Faaaar-nie joke.
ha ha... i was scrollin slowly down waiting for that one... there she pops...
