3. this is by far (apart from Chic) the best disco band ever.. imo... not very well known, but they can groove... this album is smokin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWLCut7oAZs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8LheYkA59A&feature=related
4.
Must admit I agree with cd_david. Great player and technically/musically I think he is awesome, I just find his tone is not quite right. Also played one or two of his signature basses and found them to be quite bad when it came to flexibility of tone, particularly in passive mode.
what about his tone do you not like.. im not disagreeing with you im just interested in opinions... is it the active jazz, or just a jazz bass..? if you have played the sig bass and found the preamp not good, is because its not a very good one...
5. hit us up with some photos dude
6. great UK hip hop with a fantastic rapper.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKwgCGIQxf8

9. i dont get bored of his slap.. but would sooo love to hear the guy play that bass fingerstyle on an album.. im not an i think this is wonderful slap playing for the song..for some reason i love the chromatic run just after 20 seconds.. little details that he plays, really stand out for me... 10. There are lots of opinions on slap bass i know.. but imo this the most musically clever slap ive ever seen... this guy is a real master of this technique imo... i know this has been shown before... was wondering if (if you like slap) this is quite universally liked...? 13. just saw an interesting topic... If you could have the best that Fender (vintage also) has to offer, or the best that Fodera has to offer... for the rest of your playing days. and you couldnt sell it either... what would you choose.. interesting to see

Stunning bass... love the color combo...
15. Im in the early stages of teaching myself how to read, and getting my theory to where i want it.... the book that im learning from uses alot of open strings... im neither for or against, but i just wanted some opinions..... ive never really used open strings in general.. do you think its a good habit to get into? i quite like the stretching, not using open strings, but are there any benefits to using open strings i might be missing ? thankyou
16. Kudos for Jens for being so composed... it would really piss me off.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARyVweFJH5A
17.
Does that mean Jaco's bass wasn't a Jazz, because he pulled the frets out and the pickguard off, making it different from what Fender envisioned? Not to mention he used to put a P bass neck on it sometimes...
i really cant see why this is so hard to understand... . if it hasnt got jazz bass pickups in 2 positions, a jazz shaped body, passive with a jazz neck, and Fender on the hadstock its not a proper jazz... its either a copy or a hybrid, when did i mention anything about frets?? or a pickguard??..... well if he a put P bass pickups in its no longer a jazz.... this is really easy...
18. Mmmm. thats good advice, and its all very well for Billy to say get in a band.. but what about actually studying music... ive been in lots of bands that expect you to be able to understand music theory and chords etc... i wonder what theory he knows and when and where did he learn....?
19. got to agree with thisnameistaken....for me his best and most well known prolific playing is from Anita Baker's albums.. fantastic bass player, but no.. it wasnt good...sounded like victor baileys awful scatting on his solo albums... sometimes great bass players just shouldnt do anything but support
